TALLE-Reading Sierra Leone is a registered local NGO that is committed to working with education stakeholders in promoting the effective Teaching and Learning of Literacy and Numeracy skills in Sierra Leone It has been supporting the Sierra Leone Ministry of Education Science and Technology and other education stakeholders such as UNICEF, IRC, EFSL, Concern Worldwide, CRS and even CODE in buildi

ng the competence and performance of teachers in using workable and learner-friendly methods to build quality literacy skills of emerging readers. TALLE-RSL has been playing leading roles in uniting experiences at pre and in-service teacher training levels, literacy conferences and research programmes to network the best in promoting the effective teaching and learning of literacy and numeracy skills which are the cornerstone for academic excellence.

As we step into the first week of May, TALLE-RSL in partnership with CODE NGO proudly concluded our Teaching and Learning in Fragile Contexts (TLFC) Project Cluster Meetings in Bo and Kenema Districts.

Under the theme: “Strengthening Teachers’ Comprehension and Meaningful Use of Active Learning Strategies, Differentiated Instruction, and Inclusive Methods Through Community of Practice (CoP) Activities”.

These sessions brought primary school teachers together to deepen their skills, share experiences, and build stronger practices for inclusive and effective teaching.

This milestone reflects our ongoing commitment to sustainability, empowering teachers and transforming learning outcomes across Sierra Leone.

TALLE‑RSL was honored to join the Sierra Leone National Civic Seminar and Symposium, organized by the The Ministry of Information and Civic Education to commemorate the nation’s 65th Independence Anniversary under the theme:

“Building a Responsive, Resilient and Cohesive Sierra Leone.”

During this historic occasion, our Education and Gender Programs Manager, Madam Fatmata Bintu Kanu , proudly presented the Youth Communiqué to the Minister of Information and Civic Education—representing the voices of young people at the event and across Sierra Leone.
