ONE DEEN GROUP ANNOUNCES MORAJ.
One Deen Group is pleased to announce plans to launch MORAJ – Muslim Organisation for Rights, Advocacy and Justice.
An initiative emerging from its Muslim Youth Training Program Initiative under One Deeen Educational Institute.
MORAJ is envisioned as a faith-based civil society and advocacy organisation dedicated to the promotion of peace, justice, human rights, and Islamic values In Shaa Allah.

🛡️ ABOUT MORAJ:
The Muslim Organisation for Rights, Advocacy, and Justice (MORAJ) will be established to operate as a registered, structured, principled, and professional institution for Islamic advocacy and civic engagement in Sierra Leone In Shaa Allah.
Since early 2025, One Deen Group has been working towards the establishment of an Islamic advocacy organisation, in response to long-standing concerns and complaints from Muslims who have experienced discrimination and marginalisation based on their religious identity.
This effort also recognises the fact that there is currently not a single dedicated Islamic civil society and advocacy organisation in Sierra Leone solely focussing on structured advocacy work, despite the presence of numerous other civil society organisations in the country.
With over eight years of consistent experience, and despite challenges, One Deen Group has successfully established and sustained all of its initiatives and institutions. All its initiatives are guided by the group's general motto:
“Developing Creative and Impactful Ideas for Humanity.”
This experience provides a strong foundation for the establishment of a credible, well-structured, and impactful advocacy organisation including a secretariat ready to serve the Ummah In Shaa Allah.

🦺EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR ROLE:
MORAJ seeks a highly competent, principled, practicing Muslim, who is committed, sincere, and capable of providing strategic leadership. The Executive Director, preferably a qualified Muslim lawyer or an experienced advocate, will be responsible for leading the organisation’s:
1. Operations and implementation of programmes
2. Advocacy strategies and engagements
3. Partnerships and collaborations with civil society organisations, Islamic bodies, the authorities and relevant stakeholders
4. Institutional growth and organisational development
NATURE OF THE ROLE:
1. This position is largely voluntary.
2. The Executive Director will be supported by a newly constituted executive team and secretariat volunteers to ensure MORAJ is open to the public Monday to Friday officially In Shaa Allah.
3. The role requires a reasonable level of commitment, but for now it is designed not to significantly interfere with existing job or professional responsibilities.
4. Work will be largely remote, except where physical meetings or engagements are a must.

🛡️OBJECTIVES OF MORAJ
MORAJ aims to:
1.Combat religious discrimination and Islamophobia.
2.Advocate for justice, fairness, and human dignity.
3.Promote awareness on the dangers of terrorism, while advancing education on the law, human rights, constitutional rights, and Islamic/Civic responsibilities
4.Address and help prevent domestic and gender-based violence
5.Campaign against drug abuse, crime, and harmful social vices
6.Support victims of injustice and human rights abuses through lawful and ethical means
7.Build strategic partnerships and collaborations with civil society organisations, Islamic bodies, and relevant stakeholders
8.Advance peacebuilding, dialogue, and conflict resolution
9.Uphold Islamic ethics, wisdom, and compassion in all advocacy efforts
10.Track and document cases related to religious discrimination, assess reported matters, and respond appropriately through lawful engagement and referrals, ensuring suitable support for individuals seeking assistance
