On April 17th, 2026, the International Youth Summit Sierra Leone, in partnership with Plan International Sierra Leone, proudly supported 100 underprivileged girls with essential school materials across 10 communities in Waterloo.

This initiative is part of our ongoing commitment to promote access to education and empower young girls to pursue their dreams. By equipping them with the tools they need, we are investing in a brighter, more inclusive future for all.

What an incredible Universal Acceptance Adoption Day in Sierra Leone on 22nd April, 2026!

We’re grateful to everyone who joined us in advancing the mission of a more inclusive internet. From engaging discussions to hands-on sessions, the energy and commitment from the community were truly inspiring.

This event will focus on practical awareness, adoption, and live demonstrations of Universal Acceptance (UA) principles among developers, government ICT officers, and digital entrepreneurs in Sierra Leone. The event will showcase how UA ensures that all domain names and email addresses regardless of script, language, or character length are recognised and functional across systems. Through interactive sessions, participants will learn how to test websites, applications, and email systems for UA readiness. The event will include hands-on demonstrations of localised domain names, multilingual email addresses, and UA-compatible tools.

With Support from Leap Africa and the International Youth Summit Sierra Leone, hope shined a little brighter in Waterloo community.

We had the joy of donating school materials to 20 amazing girls in waterloo community. As each girl received her books, pens, bags and uniforms, their smiles told a story of possibility a reminder that when given the right tools, every child can dream bigger and reach higher. 🌱📚

This is more than just school support, it’s an investment in the leaders, innovators, and changemakers of tomorrow. 💪🏽👩🏽‍🎓

Together, let’s keep opening doors for girls everywhere. 💜

Making our systems UA-ready is not just a technical upgrade it’s a commitment to an internet that includes everyone, everywhere.

The event featured insightful presentations from Yaovi Atohoun (ICANN) and Moses Kargbo, with engaging sessions on UA readiness, domain name inclusion, and practical system integration.

Participants gained hands-on experience and explored how to make applications, emails, and websites compatible with all domain names and scripts paving the way for a more inclusive digital future.
