DAQVAH Implements Arafah Feeding Across Freetown-Serving Over 500 Muslims on the Blessed Day of Arafah

The DAQVAH Charity Foundation successfully carried out its Arafah Feeding Implementation, reaching four major masjids across Freetown: Masjid Umar bin Khattab (Rawdon Street Masjid), Abacha Street Masjid, Malama Thomas Street Masjid, and Masjid Ibrahim Fourahbay Road. The initiative provided food, drinks, and water to fasting Muslims, ensuring that the spirit of compassion and service was felt throughout the central business district.

According to Alhaji Abdul Rahman Jalloh, the Chief Executive Officer and founder of DAQVAH, feeding people on the Day of Arafah has become a cherished tradition of the foundation. “Providing iftar on this blessed day through our members and donors is part of our areas of intervention, which we call Muslim service,” he stated. Donations, with a minimum of Le 75, and an anonymous donor who donated 100 bundles of water made this noble effort possible, allowing DAQVAH to serve over 500 Muslims.

Beneficiaries expressed heartfelt gratitude. At Masjid Ibrahim Fourahbay Road, one participant remarked, “The food is delicious and it came in time. Thank you and may Allah bless you for providing iftar for us.” Across all locations, prayers were offered for the foundation and its donors, with communities appreciating the timely support and generosity.

The Arafah Feeding Campaign stands as a testament to DAQVAH’s commitment to service, faith, and community upliftment. By turning donations into sustenance, the foundation continues to embody the values of charity and solidarity, ensuring that no fasting Muslim is left without support on this sacred day.

DAQVAH Taalim Session

Topic: Minor Mistakes in Sorlah
Tutor: Alhaji Abdul Rahman Jalloh, Chief Executive Officer and Founder

Today’s Taalim session at DAQVAH Charity Foundation was led by Alhaji Abdul Rahman Jalloh, who guided staff through a reflection on the importance of performing sorlah (prayer) with precision and mindfulness.

Alhaji Jalloh emphasized that while sorlah is the cornerstone of a believer’s daily worship, many Muslims unknowingly commit minor mistakes that can affect the quality of their prayers. He explained that these errors, though small, should not be overlooked, as they can accumulate and weaken the spiritual impact of worship.

Among the common mistakes highlighted were:
- Incorrect posture – rushing through bowing or prostration without proper stillness.
- Improper recitation – mispronouncing verses or failing to maintain concentration.
- Lack of focus – allowing the mind to wander during prayer.

He reminded staff that sorlah is not only a ritual but a direct connection with Allah, requiring humility, attentiveness, and sincerity. Correcting these minor mistakes, he said, is part of striving for excellence in worship.

Alhaji Jalloh concluded by urging everyone to continuously seek knowledge about proper prayer, surround themselves with people who encourage good practice, and remain conscious of Allah in every act of devotion.
