Figures like Mahatma Gandhi taught us that nonviolence is stronger than any weapon. Nelson Mandela showed that forgiveness can rebuild nations. Martin Luther King Jr. proved that love and justice can overcome hate. And Mother Teresa dedicated her life to serving the poorest with compassion.

Their legacies remind us that true leadership is not about power, but about empathy, humility, and the courage to stand for what is right.

Let us strive, in our own small ways, to carry forward their light choosing peace over anger, kindness over judgment, and unity over division.

Because the world doesn’t just need great leaders… it needs more kindness

Today’s touching story comes from Rwanda.
In 1994, when violence swallowed the country and fear lived in every street, most people were just trying to survive.In the middle of that chaos was a hotel manager named Paul Rusesabagina.
He wasn’t a soldier.He wasn’t a politician.
He was simply a man with keys to a building.
When people started running for their lives, he opened the doors of the hotel and let them in. Families. Children. Strangers. People who had nowhere else to go. Outside, there was hatred.
Inside, there was waiting… and hope.
He made calls. He negotiated. He pleaded. He stayed calm when others were panicking. Every day was uncertain. Every knock on the door could have been the end.More than 1,200 people survived because one person decided that fear would not control him.
In times when humanity feels lost, stories like this remind us of something important:
Even in the darkest moments, someone can choose to be light.
And sometimes, that choice saves lives.
