Twins and Multiple Births Association Celebrates Twins Day with Festivities
The Twins and Multiple Births Association of Sierra Leone held a vibrant celebration for Twins Day, marking the occasion with a spirited march, engaging football matches, and fun-filled activities. The event brought together twins, their families, and community members from across the country, fostering unity and joy.
The celebration kicked off with an exciting march-past that began at Victoria Park and ended at the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) Academy. Participants, dressed in matching outfits and vibrant costumes, paraded through the streets, drawing cheers and applause from onlookers. The march aimed not only to celebrate the uniqueness of twins but also to raise awareness about the challenges faced by families with multiple births.
Following the march, a series of friendly football matches took center stage, showcasing the athletic talents of both young and old. Teams made up primarily of twins and multiple-birth participants competed in a lighthearted atmosphere, encouraging teamwork and camaraderie among all involved.
In addition to the sporting activities, various entertainment options were available, including games, music, and dance performances. Families enjoyed a day filled with laughter, strengthening connections and creating lasting memories.

Twins And Multiple Births Sierra Leone supported two of its active twin members whose home was destroyed by fire accident.

In a show of solidarity and compassion, the Twins and Multiple Births Sierra Leone visited two of its active members whose home was tragically destroyed by fire. The association provided both emotional support and material aid to the affected family during this challenging time.

A delegation from the association visited the affected family to offer both emotional encouragement and practical support. The aim was to reassure the family that they are not alone during this devastating period.

Speaking during the visit, the Vice President Ferenkeh Lansana underscored the importance of solidarity in difficult times. He noted that the association remains committed to standing by its members, especially during moments of crisis. We stand together to support our members in their greatest times of need. It is important that we come together to help them rebuild and recover, he said.

Twins and Multiple Births Sierra Leone Supports Quintuplet Family in Freetown

A cross section of members from Twins and Multiple Births Sierra Leone has paid a compassionate visit to a family blessed with the birth of quintuplets, in a show of solidarity and community support.

The visit, which took place at Lumely Regent Road, was aimed at celebrating the rare and joyful occasion while providing much-needed assistance to the parents, who now face the enormous responsibility of raising five newborns at once.

During the visit, the association presented the family with a variety of essential items, including baby supplies, clothing, and financial support to help ease the challenges associated with multiple births.

Speaking on behalf of the organization, President Dr. Kelvin Vincent highlighted the importance of standing by families with multiple births. He emphasized that beyond material support, the association is committed to raising awareness about the unique challenges such families face and building a strong support network for them.

“Our goal is not only to provide assistance but also to create a sense of community and belonging for families with multiple births,” he stated.

The parents of the quintuplets expressed heartfelt appreciation for the timely intervention, describing the visit as both encouraging and uplifting.
