As we look forward to this exciting new chapter, we cannot help but reflect with pride on the overwhelming success of last year’s EXPO. Your energy, participation, and unwavering commitment turned the event into a landmark moment in our association’s history. From the vibrant showcases and impactful networking sessions to the inspiring presentations and unforgettable camaraderie, the 2025 EXPO proved what we can achieve when we stand together with purpose.

Building on that remarkable momentum, SLUSAA EXPO 2026 promises to be bigger, bolder, and even more transformative. This year, we are raising the bar—expanding opportunities, deepening engagement, and creating a platform that will empower, connect, and inspire our entire global SLUSAA family.

We therefore encourage all members to stay tuned, get involved, and prepare to be part of another groundbreaking edition of the SLUSAA EXPO.

FACE Initiative Empowers Women in Climate Action and Sustainable Livelihoods

The Feminists for Alternatives on Climate and Environment (FACE) has entered its second year with remarkable progress. As part of the ongoing initiative, a One-Day Climate Smart Skills and Sustainable Livelihood Workshop was recently conducted for 30 women from three villages in Bombali District, focusing on strengthening women’s capacity to lead in climate action and sustainable living.

The workshop also benefited greatly from the participation and leadership of Kadiatu Koroma, a member of the Sierra Leone United States Alumni Association and President of the YALI Sierra Leone Chapter, whose insights and mentorship helped inspire and motivate the participants throughout the program.

The initiative builds on a year of continuous learning, empowerment, and collaboration among women dedicated to addressing climate challenges in their communities. According to the organizers, the workshop reaffirmed the vital role women play in advancing sustainability and resilience across rural areas.

With such inspiring efforts, the future of climate leadership in Sierra Leone looks bright—female, green, and powerful
