Meet Juanita Mariama Abdulai, our dedicated Membership and Welfare Chair and a proud student of SSS 2 Science 1 at Freetown Secondary School for Girls.

Juanita is a passionate and committed Interactor who truly embodies the Rotary motto “Service Above Self.” In her role, she plays a vital part in ensuring that members feel supported, included, and motivated; strengthening the unity and wellbeing of our club. Her confidence, compassion, and sense of responsibility make her a dependable leader and an inspiration to her peers.

Beyond Interact, Juanita aspires to pursue a career in Information and Communication Technology (ICT). She is driven by a strong desire to use technology to solve real-world problems, create innovative solutions, and make a meaningful impact in society. With her leadership mindset and forward-thinking vision, she hopes to grow into a role where she can innovate, lead, and contribute to digital progress.

*December: Disease Prevention & Treatment Month in Rotary.*

Every December, Rotary International focuses on one of its most important areas of service: Disease Prevention and Treatment. This month is dedicated to raising awareness, taking action, and inspiring communities to improve health and save lives.

*What does this mean for Interactors?*

As future leaders and change-makers, Interactors play a powerful role in this global mission. Disease prevention and treatment is not just about hospitals and doctors; it’s also about education, community support, and simple actions that protect and improve the lives of others.

*Why is this theme important?*

Every day, millions of people around the world struggle with diseases that could have been prevented or treated. Rotary works to:
- Provide free health screenings and medical care.
- Support vaccinations and immunization programs.
- Improve sanitation and hygiene.
- Fight diseases like malaria, polio, and HIV/AIDS.
- Promote mental health and healthy living.

This month reminds us that good health is a foundation for everything; education, opportunities, and the future.

*How can Interactors take part?*

You don’t need to be a doctor to save lives. Interactors can create impact through:
- Awareness campaigns in their schools and communities.
- Anti-bullying and mental health conversations.
- Handwashing, sanitation, and clean water awareness.

Today we celebrate a woman of courage, leadership and purpose; someone who continues to inspire young girls to dream big and lead boldly.

She is the First President (Acting) of the Interact Club of FSSG, a role that shaped her into the exceptional leader she is today. She proudly says Interact built her, because it gave her knowledge, confidence and the heart to serve humanity. 💪

She now serves on multiple platforms of impact:
• Ambassador: Youth and Children Advocacy Panel (YACAP)
• Team Lead: Adolescent Youth Empowerment and Leadership, PENSiL Sierra Leone
