BACKGROUND

On December 10, 1948, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was proclaimed, and promoted by
Eleanor Roosevelt who served as president of the Human Rights Commission in the United Nations
Organization (UN) and since then human rights has been declared at global platform and been practiced
at different countries and regions. Youth for Human Rights Freetown Chapter (YFHR-FC) was fou

nded
in 2020. Registered with the National Youth Commission of Sierra Leone . Youth for human Rights Freetown chapter, has been teaching the Universal Declaration of Human Rights to pupils in schools and youths, seminars has been hosted in order to have positive dialogue with youths on the fight against human Rights Education in the country. MISSION STATEMENT

Youth for human Rights Freetown chapter, is a non-profit organisation and a local chapter from YOUTH FOR HUMAN RIGHT INTERNATIONAL based in the United States. It is dedicated to implement the Universal Declaration for Human Rights at local, regional, national and international levels. VISION STATEMENT

our Vision is to provide education on activities relating to Human Rights which is to inform, educate, assist and unite all aspect in spreading and adopting the Universal Declaration of Human Rights at every level of society. These factors include individuals, educators, organisations, and governmental bodies. MAIN OBJECTIVES

Youth for human Rights Freetown chapter aimed is to teach people of all ages about the thirty Basic human Rights education in Sierra Leone and make it sure human Rights become a reality in Sierra Leone and the world at large.

Earlier today, our team of volunteers visited one of the oldest university in west Africa which is (fourah Bay College) established in (1827).

The purpose of our visit is to provide human rights education to final year students of the social sciences department. During our lecture and interaction with these students, we explained to them the work of the organization through our headquarter Youth for Human Rights International in which we’re here to accomplish in order to spread the message of human right and instilled the spirit of tolerance and peace amongst them.

We shared out (200) copies of WHAT ARE HUMAN RIGHTS books to these students as a way to encourage them to help us share the knowledge to others in their community through article (29) which is responsibility.

Early this morning, our organization was invited to grace the official launching ceremony of the first ever Salone association of bloggers at the Brookfield Hotel Jomo Kenyatta road, Freetown.

On that note, we went over with the team which is Youth For Human Rights Sierra Leone and use the opportunity to spread the message of human rights education as we always did in the past years since the establishment of our organisations in 2020.

Our hard working Personal Assistant (P.A) to the CEO and a wife to him too was captured sharing the universal Declaration of Human Rights Books to the first mother of the republic her excellency First Lady Fatima Maada Bio and Francis Ben Kaifala together with Kaolastkingdenero and many more others big names in our country.

Finally, we shared out (100) copies of what are Human Rights Books to people.
