A Journey of Impact and Empowerment

We are proud to share the documentary of our Menstrual Hygiene Workshop and Menstrual Kit Donation in Kambia District.

The documentary captures our journey to Koya Town and Kalagbah Village, where we engaged girls on menstrual health and hygiene and distributed menstrual kits to support their well-being and dignity.

Thank you to everyone who made this initiative possible. Together, we are breaking stigma, promoting menstrual health, and empowering girls to thrive.

When we first planned our 2026 Menstrual Hygiene Workshop & Menstrual Kit Donation, we intended to reach girls in two communities in Kambia District. But we knew there were more girls who needed support, education, and hope.

So we expanded our outreach to three communities because we believe no girl should be left behind.

By extending this initiative, we reached more girls with menstrual health education, broke the silence surrounding menstruation, and distributed menstrual kits( both Disposable and Reusable Pads) to help girls manage their periods with dignity and confidence.

This was more than a workshop, it was a commitment to ensuring that every girl, regardless of where she lives, has access to the knowledge and resources she deserves.

From two communities to three. More girls reached. More lives impacted. One mission: No girl left behind.

What started as a simple song composed by members of Girls Alliance Incorporation with a powerful message that menstruation should never be a taboo has grown into something far greater than we ever imagined.

We created this song to encourage girls to speak openly about menstruation, break the silence surrounding periods, and remind every girl that menstruation is natural and nothing to be ashamed of.

Over the year, the song has touched thousands of lives and has become an anthem for menstrual awareness campaigns. From schools to remote villages, we have watched girls sing the lyrics with confidence, joy, and pride. What began as a creative way to pass a message has become a powerful tool for education and empowerment.

During our workshops Girls who were initially quiet and hesitant suddenly join in, clapping, singing, and embracing the message. Through the song, they learn that they are not alone, that their experiences matter, and that menstruation is a topic that can be discussed openly and without fear.

More than just a melody, the song carries a message of dignity, courage, and hope. It reminds girls that menstruation is not a curse, not a sickness, and never a reason to miss school or limit their dreams.

Every time we hear girls sing it back to us, we are reminded that meaningful change can start with something as simple as a song.

Day 2 of our Menstrual Hygiene Workshop & Menstrual Kit Donation 2026 took us to Kalagbah Village, Kambia District, where we met girls whose strength shone through challenges many people never saw.

One young girl told us she had believed the pain and bleeding she experienced every month was a sickness she had to endure alone. Another shared how she had missed several school days each term because she lacked access to proper menstrual products. Stories like these were heartbreaking, but they also reminded us why this work mattered.

But, what touched us most was seeing fear replaced with understanding. Questions the girls had once been too shy to ask turned into meaningful conversations filled with curiosity, confidence, and hope. By the end of the session, smiles had replaced uncertainty, and silence had given way to empowerment.

Their stories will stay with us long after this journey. They are a reminder that menstrual health education is more than a workshop it is an investment in girls’ confidence, well-being, and dreams.

As we left the village, we carried with us not only memories of the stories we heard but also the hope we witnessed. The journey continued because there were still many villages to reach, many stories to hear, and many girls whose lives could be transformed through knowledge, dignity, and support.

One village at a time. One girl at a time. One future at a time.

Day 1 of our Menstrual Hygiene Workshop & Menstrual Kit Donation 2026 in Koya Town was powerful, emotional, and inspiring.

Some of the most painful stories are the ones that are never told.

we heard those stories in Koya Town.

We listened to girls who did not understand menstruation even while experiencing it. We heard stories of girls who suffer in silence because society has taught them to fear speaking about their periods. Some shared how menstruation has kept them out of school, affecting their education and confidence.

Koya Town reminded us why we do this work. There are girls whose voices are unheard and whose needs are often overlooked.

We will continue to travel miles, cross rivers, and reach the most remote villages because every girl matters. Every girl deserves knowledge. Every girl deserves dignity. Every girl deserves the chance to stay in school and pursue her dreams without menstruation standing in her way.

And until that becomes a reality for every girl, we will keep showing up. Because hope should never depend on where a girl lives.

For the past three days, our team has been in Kambia District conducting a visibility survey in all the communities where our Menstrual Hygiene Workshop & Menstrual Kit Donation outreach will take place.

As we prepare to engage girls and communities, we are excited to announce that we are expanding the outreach from two villages to three villages in order to reach and support more girls in Kambia District.

This expansion means that more girls will have access to menstrual hygiene education, menstrual kits, and the confidence to manage their health with dignity.

We remain committed to breaking the stigma surrounding menstruation and ensuring that no girl is left behind.
