Congratulations to Peje West CU on the successful hosting of its 4th Annual General Meeting (AGM) over the weekend.

The success of every credit union is built on the active participation of its members. Together, members celebrate achievements, review progress, make important decisions, and shape the future of their CU.

Because in a credit union, you’re not just a member you are an owner, you have a voice, and you are part of a family committed to improving lives through cooperation.

🌍 Sierra Leone is represented at the 2026 Africa Regulatory Round Table (RRT) in Nairobi, Kenya! 🇸🇱

Our Compliance Officer, together with the Registrar of the Department of Cooperatives (DOC), is participating in the 2026 Africa Regulatory Round Table (RRT), an annual forum organized by ACCOSCA that brings together regulators, policymakers, and cooperative finance leaders from across Africa.

The event, which commenced on Monday and concludes today, has provided a valuable platform for knowledge sharing, collaboration, and discussions on strengthening the regulation and supervision of SACCOs and credit unions across the continent.

We extend our sincere appreciation to German Sparkassenstiftung Western Africa for sponsoring their participation and supporting capacity building within the cooperative financial sector.

We successfully concluded a three-day Bookkeepers and Loan Officers Induction Training for staff from Wanword, Bombali, Tonkolili, Goderich, Ngao, Bo, and Pujehun Credit Unions.

Sponsored by ILCU International Development Foundation, the training equipped newly recruited staff with the knowledge, skills, and practical tools needed to effectively perform their roles. Key areas covered included bookkeeping best practices, loan appraisal and management, portfolio risk reduction, loan recovery strategies, financial reporting, and strengthening coordination between bookkeeping and loan operations.

By investing in staff capacity development, we continue to build stronger, more sustainable credit unions that provide quality financial services to their members.

🌟 Wednesday Woman Crush (WWC) 🌟

This week, we celebrate Hassanatu Conteh of Port Loko Credit Union, a hardworking entrepreneur whose Credit Union membership has helped her grow her business, support her family, and save for the future.

“The Credit Union has significantly helped me expand my business and improve my family’s well-being. I’m saving for my children’s future and my own old age.”

Hassanatu’s story is a testament to the power of financial empowerment and the impact Credit Unions have on transforming lives. 💙
