Today, carried out a Activity with our sponsored children in and communities. The activity engaged 100 enrolled and sponsored children in each community, giving them the opportunity to communicate directly with their sponsors.

It was inspiring to watch the children participate with so much excitement. Many of them eagerly wrote letters and created drawings of their favorite objects, animals, and daily experiences to share with the people who support their journey. For these children, it is more than just writing a letter it is a meaningful connection with someone who believes in their future.

At , in partnership with ChildFund Sierra Leone child sponsorship remains the main funding stream that drives our programs. Through ChildFund International, we share inspiring stories of children from our communities with the wider world. Individuals from different countries then choose to sponsor a child, supporting them from early childhood through adulthood.

This approach aligns with our , which ensures that children receive support, guidance, and opportunities at every stage of their growth from kindergarten to higher education and beyond.

One of our sponsored children shared her story:

“I am , 19 years old and currently studying (Year Two) at the in . I joined when I was just four years old in my small village, . If it wasn’t for and , I would not be where I am today. Thank you to my sponsor, , and to for believing in me.”

Stories like Jattu’s remind us why sponsorship matters. It is not just support it is hope, opportunity, and a pathway to a better future.

This morning , in partnership with , successfully conducted a training and support activity for primary caregivers of enrolled children in the Area as part of our ongoing .

The training focused on practical small-scale business skills, including basic business planning, financial management, savings culture, and strategies for sustaining micro-enterprises within local communities. Participants were guided to identify viable income-generating activities relevant to their context, with strong emphasis on discipline, accountability, and long-term sustainability. The sessions were interactive and designed to ensure caregivers could confidently apply the knowledge gained.

To support immediate implementation, each participating caregiver received start-up capital of 3,000.00 to establish or strengthen their small businesses. This support aims to increase household income, reduce economic vulnerability, and improve caregivers’ ability to meet the educational, health, and nutritional needs of their children.

This intervention recognizes the vital role caregivers play in child development and protection. By strengthening household livelihoods, we are addressing poverty at its roots and creating a more supportive environment for children to thrive.

and remain committed to sustainable development, resilience building, and community-led solutions, with ongoing mentorship and monitoring to ensure lasting impact across communities.
