Hello friends! To be honest our long silence on this page is due to the lack of reviews. FB changes made using it more challenging and difficult to share but I press on, in the hope that those who have invested and blessed our ministry will take an interest in what we DO share. I have been sharing more on our private page, but we faced some new challenges in our work since May. One is funding but the other was the water content in Medina. God is providing for DWM, THANK YOU. The lovely couple that have invested their love and time and personal funds as well, into Medina's school and clinic building supplied funds to cover the work done on two of the three well projects there.

We all love to stand by a beautiful stream in the woods or at a park and take in nature. We enjoy the scent of water and the lovely sound it makes as it trickles downstream to ‘somewhere’. But can we drink it? Where has it come from? What has it come through? What has wandered into it before you came across it yourself?

As lovely and life giving as these cool bodies of water are, there are downsides to open water as a source of drinking water.

In Sierra Leone, at the height of rainy season, the water gushes from places unknown, carrying soils and ‘stuff’ downstream through, or past, rural villages. It reaches Freetown in torrents, flooding streets and flooding the coastline with sediments and contaminants from upcountry.

In dry season the hand dug wells often dry up by or before April and the streams are either at a standstill or have some rather interesting coloring. All but stagnant streams may be all a village has to use for bathing, clothing and cooking.

Since 2015 we have dug or renovated over forty eight wells, thanks to partnerships with all our blessed supporters and a few private donors for their projects! This year we are very close to our FIFTY WELL mark… All Glory to God!

For the first time in many years our wlw. We know that God provides for His purposes, the question is, who and when? This is an opportunity for us to remind you all why we are living way-far-away in Sierra Leone. Not just for the physically clean water that helps and heals, but to share the Gospel in doing so. Jesus is our Source of Living Water. May He receive the glory for each well in a village, reached or unreached with the Gospel.

January: the Daru Solar pump had to be adjusted before we could start a new well project

Tommy was sent to help repair a well in Talia, where a Peace Corps volunteer made us aware of an issue. Tommy will be returning this week to replace a broken part.

The team took three weeks to complete a well at a Christian sponsored clinic in Waah, where the first handdug well was no longer able to function due to the swelling sand. That sand cost our team an extra week of work (5 days to clarify and 20+ bags of filter pack!)

The team transferred to Boipieh after that and are just rounding up the well work there. If you saw the swamp water that they brought for us to wash with when we camped out there for two nights...! We were pretty cautious with it. 🤔 It looked something like half brewed red tea.
