Today, the Programs Manager of Aspire attended the Bo Collective Protection Network Formation Meeting held at 8B Abu Street, Gbongborti Chambers, Bo City, where human rights defenders and civil society organizations converged to review the proposed establishment of a collective protection mechanism for civil society actors in the district. The meeting brought together key stakeholders to discuss the formation of the Bo Collective Protection Network, a collaborative platform intended to strengthen protection, coordination, information sharing, advocacy, and rapid response among member organizations.
The session formed part of the implementation of the project “Strengthening the Protection and Resilience of Women Human Rights Defenders and Civil Society Actors in Bo City, Sierra Leone,” implemented by WAVES-SL with support from the Collective Protection Fund. Participants reviewed the purpose of the network, its expected structure, and the importance of building a non-partisan, non-profit, and multi-stakeholder platform that can respond effectively to the protection needs of civil society actors.
Discussions also focused on membership, governance arrangements, referral pathways, and operational procedures that will guide the network’s activities going forward. Aspire’s participation demonstrated the organization’s willingness to collaborate with other actors in promoting a safer and more coordinated civil society space in Bo. The meeting ended with a shared commitment to continue the process of formalizing the network and developing practical mechanisms for its effective operation.

🌱✨ ASPIRE Launches “Farm for School” in Kundiama!

Today, Aspire! Youth Empowerment and Innovation Hub joined hands with the people of Kundiama Community to kick off a bold initiative that turns farming into education.

📚 In Kundiama, children walk long distances to attend school — facing risks and challenges, especially young girls. To change this, Aspire and the community are launching the Farm for School Initiative.

🌾 Through climate‑smart agriculture, proceeds from community farms will directly support the construction of a primary school.

🤝 With local ownership, residents are engaging the Bo District Council and key stakeholders to make this vision a reality.

Together, we’re not just cultivating crops we’re cultivating hope, opportunity, and a brighter future for Kundiama’s children.
