All the children targeted to receive school items actually got them as planned.
There was joy among the children and their parents at sight of such beautiful Education materials.
Bashiru Kemokai, a blind boy in Senior Secondary School said "we are in the third week of the school year and I have not been able to attend because I didn’t have needed school materials. But just look at me now: new shoes, new bag, new school uniform ect. School, here I come!"
Similar sentiments were expressed by other children.
Fatmata Sowa, a blind girl who received a tape recorder, smiled, laughed and then cried. She said "I never thought I would own a tape recorder of such quality". Thank you AHEAD and thank you Hope for the Blind"
Mr. Abubakarr Kamara, Director of Hope for the Blind Sierra Leone, admonished all recipients to take good care of the materials and put them to the correct use.
He also appealed to other children who did not receive items this time, to stay patient, hopeful and work hard. Finally he appeared to all teachers and personnel at Paul School for the Blind to help the children put the tape recorders to the best use.
He concluded on the note that Hope for the Blind Sierra Leone will continue working th facilitate life for vulnerable persons, especially children, as best we can.
