Bo Children's Hospital

Bo Children's Hospital A children's hospital in Bo, Sierra Leone, West Africa to care for sick children and to provide healthcare with immunisation and health education

The Bo Children’s Hospital in Sierra Leone is the vision of one man and the result of cooperation between three international communities. As the project has progressed it has become apparent that what is being built is more than a children’s hospital; it is part of a process for a community to rebuild itself. Faced with the social and physical devastation of a horrific war and an infant mortality

rate that is one of the highest in the world, the local community has managed to build a children’s hospital which opened in the very week that the man responsible for the country’s devastation was convicted of war crimes. The hospital was officially opened on the 2nd June and is a tribute to a community wanting to build a better future and the generosity of humanity across international borders. DONATIONS:

As Board Directors at the Foundation for the Bo Children's Hospital in Sierra Leone, we are continually moved by the dedication of our staff who tirelessly care for sick children under challenging conditions. In a region where basic necessities are scarce, their commitment never wavers.

Today, we were struck by an unexpected revelation. In the face of severe inflation in Sierra Leone, our staff shared a humble Christmas wish: a small 25 kg bag of rice.

Just a few years ago, this amount of rice cost half as much. Their request is a stark reminder of the hardships they face daily, where even basic staples are now out of reach.

This holiday season, we're committed to making their simple wish a reality with our "A Small Bag of Rice for Christmas" campaign. Our aim is to provide 50 small bags of rice, each costing around $30, as a gesture of appreciation to these extraordinary people. To achieve this, we need to raise $1500.

Every donation, regardless of size, is a step towards our goal and a sign of solidarity with those who have devoted their lives to helping others. Moreover, every donation over $2 is tax-deductible, and we guarantee that every dollar you give goes directly to the hospital.

Please join us in making a real difference this Christmas. 🌟🍚
