After the fourth and last day of Model European Union Košice 2026, a press conference was held at UPJŠ, where outcomes of the simulation were presented.

The press conference was followed by a closing ceremony with closing speeches of BETA Slovakia, partner high schools and the Dean of the philosophical faculty at UPJŠ. Model European Union Košice 2026 was concluded with the participants receiving their certificates.

The evening of the first day of Model European Union Košice 2026, after simulating, was concluded with a ceremonial reception at UPJŠ, with consuls, ambassadors, and our partners present.

The first day of Model European Union Košice 2026 commenced with participant registration followed by an official opening ceremony held at Kulturpark. The ceremony featured speeches of representatives of the Liaison Office of the European Parliament in Slovakia, BETA Slovakia, and partner high schools.

Following the opening ceremony, students had the opportunity to network before the simulation in CANCOM began.

Model European Košice 2026 and its debates.
For our first debate, we were honoured to welcome Slovak MEPs Katarína Roth Neveďalová and Michal Wiezik, who shared their insights on their parliamentary work and advice on how young people can engage in politics.

For our second debate we were honoured to welcome the Ambassador of the Federative Republic of Brazil in Slovakia Gabriel Boff Moreira, and the Honorary Consul of the Federative Republic of Brazil in Košice Daniel Sajták, who shared their perspectives and challenges on the future of EU-Mercosur relations.

Model European Union Košice 2026 focused on a dynamic simulation of the EU’s core institutional triangle, where 60 high school students stepped into the roles of Ministers in the Council of the European Union and Members of the European Parliament.

Participants negotiated amendments on the EU–Mercosur Trade Agreement and the Green Claims Directive, experiencing firsthand how EU legislation is debated and shaped.
