It is with sorrow and deep respect that we say goodbye to our colleague and friend Attila Nagy, former BETA Europe Secretary-General and BETA Serbia President.

For Attila, BETA was a community where his values, knowledge, and humanity could fully flourish. He participated in numerous MEU projects, not only as a participant but also as an organiser, mentor, and source of inspiration – a person who genuinely embodied the Europe we all aspire to build: open, equitable, and human centred.

Colleagues and friends remember Attila as someone who never sought the spotlight, but always looked for opportunities to create a real and meaningful change. For him, BETA was not just an organisation – it was space and opportunity to build bridges between people, cultures and ideas.

His untimely passing leaves a void that words can hardly fill, but the legacy he leaves behind will live on through all those he touched with his work, energy, and humanity.

Rest in peace, dear Attila – thank you for everything!

🇪🇺 Europe Day Celebrations! 🌍✨
BETA Slovakia joined the vibrant Europe Day event at Bratislava’s Old Market Hall, organized by the European Commission. The day was filled with thought-provoking panels featuring top experts and passionate youth voices. 💬👥

Meanwhile, BETA Croatia took part in a dynamic celebration hosted by the EP and EC Liaison Offices in Croatia. Ambassadors and high-level officials came together to discuss “What’s New in Europe,” all under the powerful EU motto: Uključeni u različitosti – United in Diversity. 🇭🇷🤝🇪🇺

Happy Europe Day! 🌍
Today we celebrate peace, unity, and cooperation across our continent — values rooted in the Schuman Declaration of 1950, which laid the foundation for what would become the European Union.

From the creation of the European Economic Community (1957), the launch of the single market (1993), to the introduction of the euro (1999) and the Lisbon Treaty (2007) — each milestone has brought us closer together.
In the 2010s and 2020s, we've faced global challenges hand-in-hand: from expanding digital rights and climate action through the European Green Deal, to standing in solidarity during the COVID-19 crisis with NextGenerationEU.

🇪🇺 The EU isn’t perfect, but it represents hope — a commitment to democracy, peace, and shared progress. Here's to building a better, fairer future for all Europeans. 💙
