Our charity was founded in February 2012, when 5 friends met together and discussed their experience when visiting, living and reading about Palestine. Eac
h of us had a different background, but common aim, to help people, who want to help themselves. We have provided capacity building in hand-made products (training and coaching), which enabled women to produce products, which we sell around the world in order for the refugee women's families to improve their financial income and thus alleviate poverty through providing sustainable employment. Currently we are working only with 7 women, as we have limited funding that came from personal donations of our friends and family. Our trained workers produced items which are of great quality and style. These trendy jewellerry is produced from high quality Czech crystal (that we personally transport from Slovakia to Palestine) and made by Palestinian skilled hands. The other type of items are home-made waterproof laptop-handbags, stationary bags-handbag pouches, tote nags, eco-bags, phone cover which are made from local materials. It is actually unbelievable that women in such conditions (without professional sewing machines) are able to produce such great products. It requires great motivation and belief in people as us, people, who believed in them....
Please help us to accomplish their dream. The New Askar camp where HOP operates is based near Nablus in West Bank, Occupied Palestinian territories. Many, who are not familiar with Palestinian issue might not know that this camp was established in this place, as many people flown from today's territory of israel in 1948 to save their lives before the terrorists Jewish armed gangs as Irgun, Hagana and L**h (, that are now incorporated to the israeli defense force- the occupation army). The original place of birth of the elderly from the camp is Sheikh Mounis, Cacoun, Al Msoudiyeh, Beit Dajan, Yazour, East and West Jammsin, Ashdod and Arab Abu Kishik .All West Bank camps were set up on plots of land leased by UNRWA from the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan (ref. Agreement between the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and UNRWA, 14/03/1951).
