Dnes vám ponúkam sumár a zamyslenie ďalšej z účastníčok konferencie WFWP Europe - Women's Federation for World Peace v Európskom parlamente v Bruseli, na tému "Ženy, mier a bezpečnosť." Women, Peace and Security at the European Parliament: A United Call for Peace-building, Brussels, 24.09.2025
The European Parliament opened its doors to an inspiring and important conference under the theme “Women, Peace and Security.” organised by WFWP Europe - Women's Federation for World Peace Hosted by by MEP Annalisa Corrado, the gathering brought together political representatives, international organizations, various leaders and experts from diverse walks of life, all united by a common vision: advancing the role of women as key actors in building peace and safeguarding security worldwide.
The conference highlighted the fact, that women’s voices remain underrepresented in formal peace negotiations and policymaking, despite being disproportionately affected by the consequences of war and conflict. Political representatives reaffirmed the European Union’s longstanding commitment to the Women, Peace and Security agenda, first enshrined and stressed the urgency of translating commitments into concrete action.
Opening remarks from Mitty Tohma the president of WFWP for Europe and Middle East set the tone, reminding attendees that “sustainable peace is not achievable without women’s participation, leadership and vision.”
Panel discussions were enriched by voices from humanitarian organizations, academia, cultural sectors and civil society networks. Each speaker emphasized the role of peace and the broader challenges such as climate change, migration, education and human rights.
Benedict Suzuki, the leader of the “Women Peace Aid” organization working in France on various projects emphasized that the scope of all the projects is to make the word PEACE an everyday word, she explained that peace is human right like love, life and other things. She mentioned that sometimes big changes are triggered from the little things we do in everyday life.
MEP Cecilia Strada stated in her presentation on humanitarian work in conflict-affected regions: “Women are not only victims in the war, they are also resilient, they educate and are often the first to pick up the pieces after war. They rebuild communities, heal wounds, and lead reconciliation. Yet too often, they remain excluded from the decision-making table.”
Our representative, the president of WFWP Slovakia, Lubica Magnusson combined her presentation with her students giving voice to young women so that they bring attention to modern issues women face like AI generated po*******hy or creating po*******hy using women’s images without their consent. How important is to make laws that not only protect women but also regulate the use of technology. Lubica herself focused on the value of education and the role teachers and parents have in educating the whole person, their mind, their character and their skills.
🔈 A Call to Action
The conference concluded with a resounding call to strengthen cooperation between governments, institutions and civil society in advancing the Women, Peace and Security agenda. Participants agreed that empowering women in peace and security is not a symbolic gesture but a strategic imperative for building inclusive and lasting peace.
The world today is suffering the biggest war and that is not the violent wars we see around us, they are consequence of the war of values, which is a long term and silent killer of peace.
In order to win this war, we have to invest and elevate our education programs in human rights, character education and Values and make sure that women have their chair in decision and policy making for more security and peace.

Ženy, mier a bezpečnosť v Európskom parlamente: Spoločná výzva na budovanie mieru, Brusel, 24. 9. 2025
Európsky parlament otvoril svoje brány inšpiratívnej a dôležitej konferencii na tému "Ženy, mier a bezpečnosť". Na stretnutí, ktorého hostiteľkou bolaa poslankyňa Európskeho parlamentu Annalisa Corrado, sa zišli politickí predstavitelia, medzinárodné organizácie, lídri a odborníci z rôznych oblastí života, ktorých spája spoločná vízia: presadzovanie dôležitosti úlohy žien ako kľúčových aktérok pri budovaní mieru a ochrane bezpečnosti na celom svete.
Konferencia zdôraznila skutočnosť, že hlasy žien sú stále nedostatočne zastúpené vo formálnych mierových rokovaniach a pri tvorbe politiky, a to napriek tomu, že práve ony sú neprimerane postihnuté dôsledkami vojny a konfliktu. Politickí predstavitelia opätovne potvrdili dlhodobý záväzok Európskej únie voči agende žien, mieru a bezpečnosti, ktorý bol prvýkrát zakotvený, a zdôraznili naliehavosť premietnutia záväzkov do konkrétnych opatrení.
Úvodné poznámky Mitty Tohma prezidentky WFWP pre Európu a Blízky východ udali tón a pripomenuli účastníkom, že "udržateľný mier nie je dosiahnuteľný bez účasti, vedenia a vízie žien."
Panelové diskusie boli obohatené hlasmi humanitárnych organizácií, akademickej obce, kultúrnych sektorov a sietí občianskej spoločnosti. Každý rečník zdôraznil úlohu mieru a širšie výzvy, ako sú zmena klímy, migrácia, vzdelávanie či ľudské práva.
Benedikta Suzuki, vedúca organizácie "Women Peace Aid", ktorá participuje vo Francúzsku na rôznych projektoch, zdôraznila, že cieľom všetkých projektov je, aby sa slovo MIER stalo slovom každodenného piužitia a vysvetlila, že mier je ľudské právo rovnako ako láska, život a iné veci. Spomenula, že niekedy sú veľké zmeny vyvolané malými skutkami, ktoré robíme v každodennom živote.
Poslankyňa Európskeho parlamentu Cecilia Strada vo svojej prezentácii o humanitárnej práci v regiónoch postihnutých konfliktom uviedla: "Ženy nie sú len obeťami vo vojne, ale sú aj odolné, vzdelávajú sa a často sú prvé, ktoré po vojne zbierajú polámané zvyšky. Obnovujú komunity, liečia rany a vedú k zmiereniu. Napriek tomu zostávajú príliš často vylúčené z rozhodovacieho procesu."
Naša zástupkyňa, prezidentka WFWP Slovensko, Ľubica Magnússon spojila svoju prezentáciu so študentkami a dala hlas mladým ženám, aby upozornili na moderné problémy, ktorým ženy čelia, ako je pornografia generovaná umelou inteligenciou alebo vytváranie pornografie s použitím obrázkov žien bez ich súhlasu. Aké dôležité je vytvárať zákony, ktoré nielen chránia ženy, ale aj regulujú používanie technológií. Samotná Ľubica sa zamerala na hodnotu vzdelania a úlohu, ktorú majú učitelia a rodičia pri výchove celého človeka, jeho mysle, charakteru a zručností.
🔈 Výzva ku akcii
Konferencia sa skončila hlasnou výzvou na posilnenie spolupráce medzi vládami, inštitúciami a občianskou spoločnosťou pri presadzovaní agendy žien, mieru a bezpečnosti. Účastníci sa zhodli na tom, že posilnenie postavenia žien v oblasti mieru a bezpečnosti nie je symbolickým gestom, ale strategickým imperatívom pre budovanie inkluzívneho a trvalého mieru.
Svet dnes trpí najväčšou vojnou, a to nie sú násilné vojny, ktoré vidíme okolo seba, tie sú dôsledkom vojny hodnôt, ktorá je dlhodobým a tichým zabijakom mieru.
Aby sme túto vojnu vyhrali, musíme investovať a pozdvihnúť naše vzdelávacie programy v oblasti ľudských práv, výchovy charakteru a hodnôt a zabezpečiť, aby ženy mali svoju stoličku v rozhodovaní a tvorbe politiky v záujme väčšej bezpečnosti a mieru.
