Young Liberals (Mladí liberáli) is a civil association recognizing the values of liberalism among which belong particularly the freedom of private ownership and respect to it. The main goals of Young Liberals are to spread liberal thinking among young people and to promote reasonable solutions of social problems. The organization was established by transformation of Liberal Youth of Slovakia, foun
ded in 2002. The organization is currently a member of European Liberal Youth (LYMEC), a candidate member of the International Federation of Liberal Youth and a representative of European Students for Liberty in the Slovak Republic. The organization is not affiliated to any political party or movement. Activities of Young Liberals:
Within our activities we stress on proliferation of the ideas of liberalism, draw attention to the decisive group of young citizens and try to familiarize them with our organization as a group of active, friendly, well-informed and open-minded young people.
• Seminars / Liberal Weekends are attended by experts in their field and organized in cooperation with other liberal foundations and European liberal structures. Our members have many opportunities to attend similar events abroad. Liberal weekends are regularly held two-day long meetings of young people from all over Slovakia. The aim of these meetings is to gather youths willing to enrich their knowledge both in economics and social studies and to meet new friends. The meetings are open to non-members too.
• Workshops on particular topics are aimed on professional growth of our members and on improvement of communication within the organization as well as outwards. The capacity of the workshops is usually between 10 to 15 members. Liberal think-tanks experts participate in the workshops too.
• Informal meetings/ Liberals clubs – informal groups of liberals in Slovakia.
• Lectures at schools /campaigns/ petitions.
• Professional and research activities in economics and social studies. Membership
Together with us you can enjoy a great social life, gain experience and knowledge about economics and functioning of a free society. We will teach you how to perceive society and economics in a completely new way. You will get the answers on various questions and you will discover new liberal views on diverse topics. You might be a part of the great team of young people from all over the country and make countless new contacts and friends. You will get a chance to meet the best scholars as well as practitioners. We cooperate with the Friedrich Neumann Foundation, the F. Hayek Foundation and many other liberal organizations. Moreover, our members have an advantage of taking part in numerous workshops, conferences or discussions. Last but not least, the costs of attending the events are often fully reimbursed.
