✨ Looking back at 2025 at Autismity

As the year comes to a close, we’re taking a moment to reflect on what 2025 meant for Autismity.

This year, our Autism Simulator was used in 13 countries around the world — including the USA, Canada, Australia, Sweden, and many more. Each new partnership was driven by the same goal: enabling teams to collaborate and perform better, particularly in environments that include neurodivergent colleagues.

We are delighted to share that in 2025, Autismity was trusted by global organizations such as AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson, as well as leading universities including Manchester Metropolitan University or The Hong Kong Polytechnic University - PolyU. Seeing our work integrated into both corporate learning and academic settings has been incredibly meaningful.

We were also proud to be part of two research projects this year:
🔬 one conducted in Sweden at Stockholm University
🔬 and another led by researchers at University of Liverpool

What started as a deeply personal idea continues to grow into a global movement built on experience, research, and human connection.

Thank you to every partner, researcher, organization, and individual who trusted Autismity in 2025. We’re excited for the future 🌍💙

🎄 As this year comes to an end, we want to send a heartfelt thank-you to everyone who helped make workplaces kinder, more thoughtful, and more human in 2025.

🫂 Whether you lead teams, support colleagues, design learning programs, or simply show up with empathy each day — your effort matters.

In a world of fast change and constant pressure, the people who prioritize understanding and connection are the ones who move organizations forward.

During the holidays, we hope you find a moment to pause, recharge, and celebrate the impact you’ve made — often quietly, but never insignificantly.

May 2026 bring fresh ideas, stronger teams, and learning experiences that truly make a difference.

✨ Merry Christmas & Happy New Year from the Autismity team ✨

🎥 Autismity in the TV JOJ morning show!

Yesterday morning, our founder Mikuláš Štubňa was invited to the TV JOJ morning show to talk about Autismity — our VR autism simulator that helps people step into the world of someone on the autism spectrum.

In the interview, Mikuláš explained:
💡 how Autismity works
👥 who it’s designed for — teachers, managers, HR teams, families, students
🌍 why immersive understanding is essential for building inclusive workplaces, classrooms, and communities

One of the most powerful moments?

👉 The TV moderator Alena Stračiaková tried Autismity live on air — experiencing sensory sensitivity and social challenges firsthand. Her reaction said it all: some things can only be understood through experience.

These are the moments that help move society forward. The more people understand what everyday life feels like for someone on the spectrum, the more empathy, inclusion, and respect we can build.

Thank you, Televízia JOJ, for giving space to such an important topic — and for helping bring neuroinclusion into the public conversation.

💡 How can we make the digital future accessible to everyone?

Yesterday, our founder Mikuláš Štubňa had the honor of opening the conference Digital
Exclusion and Accessibility 2025 organised by Digitální Česko and Úřad vlády ČR — an important event focused on how technology can empower, not exclude.

🎤 In his opening speech, Mikuláš spoke about why digitalization must be built for everyone — including people with disabilities, neurodivergent individuals, and those who face social or economic barriers. Because innovation only matters when it’s accessible and inclusive.

🙏 Thank you to the organizers for the opportunity to open such an inspiring event.

💙 It’s an honor to be part of a project that is changing the way society perceives people on the spectrum.

On October 10th – World Mental Health Day – we joined Lidl Slovensko and SPOSA Bratislava for the launch of the “Silent Hour” project. During this hour, all Lidl stores across Slovakia will turn down the volume every day from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. – no music, no announcements, and minimal background noise. This simple change helps create a calmer and more welcoming environment for people with autism and anyone who appreciates a quieter shopping experience.

🎧 At the launch event, participants had the opportunity to experience our VR autism simulator, which shows how the world can feel to someone hypersensitive to sounds or lights.

A huge thank you to Lidl Slovensko for the invitation and for openly showing that empathy truly makes a difference 👏

📢 A recent master’s thesis by Shweta Prasad Ghaisas at Stockholm University examined how interactivity and realism in VR autism simulations influence empathy and sympathy. Let’s take a look at the key study findings:

➡️ Realism is the most powerful factor in fostering empathy.
➡️ VR simulations significantly increased empathy and sympathy in participants.
➡️ Realism accompanied by relatable scenarios (like those in Autismity’s Autism Simulator) creates meaningful emotional connections and increases understanding of the autistic experience.

💡 This research confirms what we see in practice: VR training works because it creates immersive, first-person experiences that shift perspectives and change team dynamics.

At Autismity, we’re proud to have pioneered this approach — using VR to foster inclusion, reduce conflicts, and strengthen workplaces.

V pondelok 8. septembra sme odštartovali podujatie Týden pro Digitální Česko prvým workshopom v spolupráci so ZA SKLEM o. s. 🤝

Pomocou nášho simulátora autizmu vo VR prinášame hlbšie porozumenie, empatiu a inklúziu 🫂 Vďaka Autismity zažijete svet očami človeka s autizmom a cez vlastnú skúsenosť pochopíte, ako autistický človek vníma zvuky, svetlo či vzory.

👉 10. 9. 2025, Praha
👉 11. 9. 2025, Brno

Today we took part in the celebration of the World Autism Awareness Day in Prague, organized by Národní ústav pro autismus - Nautis , in the framework of which they celebrated 20 years of their foundation.

We congratulate NAUTIS on their 20th anniversary and wish them continued strength and success in caring for people with autism in the Czech Republic in the future.
As part of the programme, visitors to the event also had the opportunity to try out our Autismity autism simulator.
We are grateful for the opportunity to attend this event and gain such varied perspectives and inspiration from participants who deal with autism on a daily basis, whether in family or other settings.
