Exciting RurAll Project Meeting in Croatia! 🇭🇷

We had a productive time in Križevci as part of the CERV project RurAll, focusing on democratic participation in rural areas.

Highlights included:
🍫 Visiting the social enterprise "Hedon" to learn about their inspiring work in social inclusion and chocolate production.
🎓 An insightful session at the Ivan Seljanec Secondary School, where students shared creative projects on connecting cultural heritage with democracy.
🇪🇺 A visit to the European Parliament Liaison Office in Croatia to discuss how European institutions support rural development.

The event concluded with a great discussion on the role of women in rural democracy and empowerment. Next stop: Cenon and Bordeaux! 🇫🇷

🌍 DiverCity in Novo mesto: Moving from Theory to Practice! 🤝

We successfully hosted the international seminar for the DiverCity – Building Inclusive Societies project (co-funded by the EU CERV programme), welcoming partners and decision-makers from 7 European countries! 🇪🇺✨

Led by Ester Snedec, the two-day event was packed with inspiration, deep reflections, and experiential learning:

🔹 Day 1: Opened by Deputy Mayor Sara Tomšič and DRPDNM's Tina Cigler, who highlighted local impact tools like the Urbanka card and participatory budgeting. We hosted a powerful roundtable with experts Mitja Blažič, Matej Auguštin, and Milica Tanasković, uncovering "invisible barriers" in our systems. The afternoon was topped off by an amazing performance by our own DRPD dance group led by Daniela! 💃🎶

🔹 Day 2: We kicked off with the intensive “Breaking Down Stereotypes” workshop, followed by a professional presentation of the Living Library methodology by Maja Žunič Fabjančič. Participants engaged in deep 1-on-1 conversations with our "living books." We wrapped up the seminar with a historic field walk through Novo mesto's “Forgotten Half” with Klavdija Kotar. 📖🚶‍♀️

🙌 Youth Power: We were thrilled to see so many young people and youth workers participating with incredible energy, critical thinking, and a drive for change!

📈 The Results? Our partners gave the organization, roundtable, and field activities a perfect 5/5 rating! This proves that we are on the right track to building more open, accessible, and inclusive cities across Europe.

📢 Yesterday we participated at an online webinar where we presented the results of the ISRICM-EU project.

Among 48 participants, we were also joined by Ukrainian participants who shared their personal experiences and reflections from their involvement in the project. Their contribution added an important and meaningful perspective to the discussion.
Each partner presented valuable insights from their work, and it was truly inspiring to see what has been achieved in just one year of cooperation between 9 partners across Europe.

𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐬 𝐧𝐨 𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬! 🌟

Yesterday, at DRPD Novo mesto, we celebrated a special milestone – 33 years of our local roots and 30 years of European wings! 🏡✈️ More than 60 of us gathered to mark three decades of European solidarity and our association’s journey. We discussed the origins and development of the association, European projects such as the European Solidarity Corps and Erasmus+, and the current global situation – all through the lens of volunteering and solidarity.

✨"𝐕𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐬 𝐚 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧." This was affirmed by our president, Branka Bukovec, reflecting on her 55-year volunteering journey. She has led our association wholeheartedly for over three decades – entirely as a volunteer!

What did we learn?
👉Solidarity is the glue of our society.
👉 International experiences enrich our local environment and vice versa.
👉 Young people are co-shaping the future of Europe! 🇪🇺

🇪🇸 ZA4NED Kick-Off in Tibi: Empowering the Next Generations!
Our team recently returned from the sunny town of Tibi, Spain, where we officially launched the ZA4NED project (“Generation Z & Alpha in the Driver’s Seat for Youth Participation and European Democracy”)! 🚀

It was an intensive and inspiring few days spent with partners from 8 European countries, all dedicated to one goal: putting young people at the heart of European democracy.

What happened in Tibi?
🧠 Democracy Remix & Policy Speed-Dating: We explored how Gen Z and Alpha perceive democracy and debated the challenges of youth engagement across different borders.
🎨 Creativity meets Citizenship: Through visual collage workshops, we mapped out youth perspectives on the future of Europe.
🏃‍♂️ Senderos del Arte: We combined team-building with civic values during an artistic orientation trek through the beautiful landscape of Tibi.
🏫 Hackathon & Intergenerational Café: In the nearby town of Ibi, we joined students for a "Hackathon on the Future of Elections," discussing everything from trust in politics to the impact of social media.

What’s next?
The journey has just begun! We are now forming Local Youth Action Groups to bring these global ideas back to Novo mesto. And mark your calendars – in March 2027, the ZA4NED caravan is coming to Slovenia, where we will be the hosts! 🇸🇮📍

📘 New Vocational Training Curriculum Developed!
We are proud to share that we have developed a comprehensive curriculum for vocational training aimed at supporting the skills development and employability of Ukrainian refugees.

As part of this initiative, we successfully delivered the training to 100 Ukrainian participants, helping them strengthen their professional competencies and gain practical knowledge that supports their integration into the labour market.

This achievement reflects our commitment to providing meaningful learning opportunities and empowering individuals through high-quality, accessible vocational education.
