This morning, mayors and leading representatives of regional authorities from Ukraine, representing 13 Ukrainian regions, began their intense visit focused on their capacity for economic development in Ukraine, tools for attracting investments, and supporting local entrepreneurship, and thus launched their process under this thematic cluster - designed to assist the Ukrainian authorities in fields of EU accession Chapter 22.

The process is developed by Centre for European Perspective - CEP in partnership with Міністерство розвитку громад та територій України and Ministrstvo za kohezijo in regionalni razvoj.

On day 1, we are also joined by the experts Ms Alenka Marovt and Mr Jan Sitar from the Slovenian Ministry of Economy, Tourism and Sport Ministrstvo za gospodarstvo, turizem in šport, Ms Ivana Štrkalj and Mr Tin Krampl Ministrstvo za kohezijo in regionalni razvoj and Ms Natalia Markevych Pritsa, First Secretary Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Slovenia.

The visit will introduce Slovenia's ecosystems and supporting environment, and take our delegation to Ljubljana and its surroundings, Koroška and Štajerska regions.

“Many communities have good ideas, but you also need the required skills. We tried to give you an insight into our own journey,” said Mr Marko Virag, mayor of Občina Beltinci in his opening speech💡

The mentorship visit of Horodenka municipality Городенківська міська рада територіальної громади - Офіційна сторінка to Beltinci municipality has come to an end. 🇺🇦🫱🏻‍🫲🏼🇸🇮

We commemorated the closing at the beautiful Island of Love, where the mayors signed a Memorandum of Cooperation between the municipalities. This will no doubt be a fruitful and successful partnership in the future. 💙

In addition to that, Beltinci municipality donated solar panels to Horodenka, a kind gesture that will help Horodenka during these difficult times. ⚡️

The mentees Maria and Tetiana presented their project proposals of waste management and rehabilitation of veterans, that they formed together with CEP experts and their mentor Dejan Bogdan from the Beltinci municipality. ♻️🏥

🌍 Global starts Local: Workshops about raising awareness on international development cooperation

Centre for European Perspective - CEP in cooperation with Povod institute, is announcing upcoming interactive workshops for 9th grade primary school students in Slovenia aimed at raising awareness about the importance of international development cooperation, global solidarity and the role of Slovenia.

📍 3 June – Spodnja Idrija Primary School
📍 12 June – Lenart Primary School

Through quizzes, group activities, and creative tasks, students will explore:
✔ Slovenia’s role in international development cooperation,
✔ the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs),
✔ the importance of active citizenship and solidarity,
✔ examples of Slovenia’s support for Ukraine and other international projects.

The workshops will encourage young people to reflect on how they can contribute to a more connected, sustainable, and inclusive society.
