Namen mednarodne izmenjave je, da mladim omogočimo spoznavanje mladih, kulture, jezikov po vsem svetu. Mladi najprej bivajo pri gostiteljskih družinah, nato pa se udeležijo še kampa v organizaciji distrikta. Tovrstna izkušnja je na voljo slovenskih mladostnikom, ki se udeležujejo izmenjav v tujini. Sami pa vsako leto sprejmemo mlade, ki sprva bivajo pri družinah, nato pa se udeležijo poletnega tabora, kjer spoznavajo našo deželo in kulturo, ter seveda ustvarjajo nepozabne spomine s sovrstniki. V 11 dneh tabora potujemo po Sloveniji, saj jim želimo prikazati, kako bogata je Slovenija v svoji pestrosti in naravni raznolikosti. Organizacija takšnega dogodka za nas predstavlja velik zalogaj. Udeleženci bodo spoznali lepote Primorske, obiskali pa bodo tudi Ljubljano, Bled in Julijske Alpe. Zato bi vas na tem mestu radi povabili k pomoči pri organizaciji poletnega tabora »Catch the Rainbow«. Each year, the Lions International Youth Camp and Exchange Program introduces young people to life in other cultures by helping them travel abroad. Each Youth Camp and Exchange includes an extended stay hosted by one of our many international clubs. As a participant In the Youth Exchange Program, you will live with a family in another country, meet people of your age from around the world and learn abound the bonds we share. Our district, District 129 Slovenia organizes youth camp Catch the Rainbow. In 11 days we will travel around Slovenia. From Primorska region by the seas will we see Gorenjska by the mountains and a of course spend time in our capital.

The last day of our youth exchange camp was filled with breathtaking views, heartfelt conversations, and unforgettable moments. ❤️

In the morning, we headed to Tamar Hut, took a walk to the source of the Nadiža stream, and enjoyed authentic Slovenian mountain cuisine, including the ever-popular štruklji. After returning to the Planica Valley, we visited the beautiful Zelenci Nature Reserve and took one last chance to admire the stunning Slovenian landscape.

The afternoon was dedicated to writing letters to one another—small keepsakes that will preserve the memories we created together. We then gathered for our closing ceremony, filled with smiles, pride, and even a few tears. The final hugs, kisses on the cheek, and promises to meet again were the greatest proof that we had created something truly special during these days.

In just one week, strangers became friends. We discovered new cultures, shared unforgettable experiences, learned so much from one another, and proved that friendship knows no borders.

Saturday started with a discussion about Lionism, then stepped into the shoes of blind and visually impaired people, learning about their everyday lives through a variety of challenges. This was followed by fun games and an exciting obstacle course. At lunchtime, we put on blindfolds and experienced a completely different way of enjoying our meal. We ended the day in colorful style with a true hippie party, filled with music, dancing, and an amazing atmosphere! 🌼✌️

Soboto smo začeli s pogovorom o lionizmu, nato pa stopili v čevlje slepih in slabovidnih ter skozi različne izzive spoznavali njihov vsakdan. Sledile so zabavne igre in razgiban poligon, za kosilo pa smo si nadeli preveze za oči in doživeli povsem novo izkušnjo obedovanja. Dan smo zaključili v pisanem slogu – s pravo hippie zabavo, polno glasbe, plesa in odličnega vzdušja! 🌼✌️

We started the day with a treasure hunt, following clues and discovering the hidden corners of Ljubljana. 🗺️🔎 After a steady climb, we reached the top, where Ljubljana Castle welcomed us with breathtaking views over the city. 🏰✨ Another day filled with exploration, laughter, and unforgettable memories!

Dan smo začeli z lovom na zaklad in med namigi odkrivali skrite kotičke Ljubljane. 🗺️🔎 Po vztrajnem vzponu nas je na vrhu pričakal Ljubljanski grad, kjer smo bili za ves trud nagrajeni s čudovitim razgledom na mesto. 🏰✨ Še en dan, poln raziskovanja, smeha in lepih doživetij!

⚔️ Wednesday felt like stepping into a fairy tale! We started the day among real knights at Celje Castle, exploring its fascinating history and hidden stories. 🏰

Next, we put our brains to the test at Tehno Park Celje before treating ourselves to some delicious Celje rolls to end our time in the city on a sweet note. Thank you Lions club Mozaik Celje. 😋

Then it was time to head towards the high mountains and breathtaking views. ⛰️✨

The evening was truly picture-perfect! Surrounded by stunning peaks and the beauty of nature, we enjoyed a magical movie night under the stars. 🎬🍿

⚔️ Sreda je bila kot iz pravljice! Najprej smo se podali med prave viteze na Celjski grad, kjer smo raziskovali grajske skrivnosti. 🏰

Nato smo svoje možgančke pošteno zaposlili v Tehno parku Celje, dan v mestu pa sladko zaključili s slastnimi celjskimi rolcami. Hvala Lions klubu Mozaik Celje. 😋

Sledil je premik med visoke gore in čudovite razglede. ⛰️✨

Večer pa je bil naravnost filmski! Ob pogledu na mogočne vrhove in objemu narave smo si privoščili movie night pod zvezdami. 🎬🍿

🏖️ We kicked off the week with an active start!

We began the day with sports games before heading to Kostanjevica na Krki. There, we practiced our balance on stand-up paddleboards (SUPs) and, with a beautiful view around us, created drawings for children receiving treatment at the Šentvid pri Stični Hospital.

To top it all off, we spent the evening in true Greek style. 😄🏄☀️ 🏖️ Teden smo začeli aktivno!
Dan smo otvorili s športnimi igrami, nato pa se odpravili v Kostanjevico na Krki. Tam smo preizkušali in urili svoje ravnotežje na SUP-ih ter z razgledom ustvarji risbice za otroke, ki se zdravijo v bolnišnici Šentvid pri Stični.

Za piko na i smo večer preživeli v grškem slogu. 😄🏄☀️

“The way to someone’s heart is through their stomach.” ❤️🍽️ And if you ask us, that’s also the way to friendship, cultural exchange, and unforgettable memories!

Day 3 of our Youth Exchange was all about discovering the participants’ countries and getting to know Slovenia.

We started the day with country presentations, followed by a fun quiz about Slovenia. To finish the morning, we explored different cultures by tasting traditional snacks from every participating country, proving that every culture has its own unique flavour. 🌍🥨🍪

In the afternoon, everyone became a chef! 👨‍🍳👩‍🍳 Participants cooked traditional Slovenian dishes by themselves – ričet, goulash, chicken stew, and delicious štruklji. The kitchen was filled with teamwork, laughter, and amazing aromas.

We ended the day dancing to the cheerful sounds of the accordion while learning traditional Slovenian folk dances. New dance steps, lots of smiles, and plenty of laughter made for the perfect ending. »Ljubezen gre skozi želodec.« ❤️🍽️ In če vprašate nas, enako velja tudi za prijateljstvo, medkulturno izmenjavo in nepozabne spomine!

Tretji dan naše mladinske izmenjave je bil posvečen spoznavanju držav mladih in odkrivanju Slovenije.

Dan smo začeli s predstavitvami držav, nato pa nadaljevali z zabavnim kvizom o Sloveniji. Dopoldne smo zaključili z okušanjem tradicionalnih prigrizkov iz vseh sodelujočih držav ter tako raziskovali različne kulture in dokazali, da ima vsaka svoj edinstven okus. 🌍🥨🍪

Popoldne smo stopili v vlogo kuharskih mojstrov! 👨‍🍳👩‍🍳 Mladi so sami pripravili tradicionalne slovenske jedi – ričet, golaž, piščančjo obaro in slastne štruklje. Kuhinja je bila polna timskega duha, smeha in omamnih vonjav.

Dan smo zaključili ob zvokih harmonike, medtem ko smo se učili tradicionalnih slovenskih ljudskih plesov. Novi plesni koraki, veliko nasmehov in obilica smeha so poskrbeli za popoln zaključek dneva.

Our second day started with an adrenaline filled adventure at Betnava Adventure Park, where we enjoyed climbing among the treetops. 💪🌳 We then took part in a w**e tasting at a local w**e cellar before continuing to the oldest town in Slovenia, where we discovered the mysterious and iconic Kurent. 🎭🍷 We ended the day with fun games and od course - watching the football match together. ⚽🎲

Drugi dan smo začeli adrenalinsko – s plezanjem v Adrenalinskem parku Betnava. 💪🌳 Sledila je degustacija vin v vinski kleti, nato pa smo obiskali najstarejše slovensko mesto, kjer smo spoznali skrivnostno in mistično bitje – Kurenta. 🎭🍷 Dan smo zaključili v sproščenem vzdušju z družabnimi igrami in nepogrešljivim ogledom nogometne tekme. ⚽🎲

🌈 Day one of Catch the Rainbow camp is officially in the books! 🎉 And… what a start! 💥 We broke the ice with get-to-know-you games 🤝, made new friends 😊, created our first unforgettable moments together, and officially kicked off the camp with our Opening Ceremony! 🎊 There was no shortage of laughter—and even less of energy! 🚀 If day one was like this, we can only imagine what else is in store for us. 🌈✨ Let the adventure begin! 💛 🌈 Prvi dan kampa Catch the Rainbow je uradno za nami! 🎉

Kakšen začetek! 💥

Led smo prebili s spoznavnimi igrami 🤝, spoznali nove prijatelje 😊, skupaj ustvarili prve nepozabne trenutke in kamp tudi uradno odprli na našem Opening Ceremony! 🎊

Smeha ni manjkalo, energije pa še manj! 🚀 Če je bil prvi dan takšen, si sploh ne predstavljamo, kaj vse nas še čaka. 🌈✨
