30 years of Sitting Volleyball Club Fantomi is a story shaped by mine survivors - of resilience, inclusion and recovery through sport. 🎉

The anniversary of the sitting volleyball club and the 25th International Sarajevo Open 2026 was marked in Sarajevo, celebrating a community built around sitting volleyball and the people behind it. 🏐

Happy 🐝🌍

Bees don’t do things alone - they build, move, and survive through partnership. In a hive, everything is connected, and every role matters.

The same applies to recovery of victims of explosive remnants of war and lasting change: it’s built through long-term partnerships, local ownership, and steady support that helps people and communities move forward with dignity & resilience 🌱

In April, ITF Enhancing Human Security and representatives of the 🇺🇸 U.S. Department of State’s PM/WRA office conducted a donor monitoring visit to ITF’s Weapons and Ammunition Management activities in the Kyrgyz Republic 🇰🇬, implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Defence of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The visit included renovated storage facilities, ongoing inventory and stockpile management processes, and activities focused on the safe demilitarization of obsolete weapons and ammunition. These efforts help prevent diversion, reduce long-term security risks, strengthen national capacities, and support a more stable and secure regional environment.

ITF sincerely thanks the United States for its continued partnership in advancing practical security cooperation, as well as the Kyrgyz Ministry of Defence for its partnership and commitment to the project.

Families are at the heart of every strong and resilient community. 🩵

On International Day of , we recognize the role families play in helping us feel safe, supported and connected - especially in difficult times.

Across many of the places where ITF works, we continue to see something remarkable: families finding ways to keep everyday life going and caring for one another, even in situations shaped by loss and uncertainty.

Across the West Bank 🇵🇸, 100 volunteers are taking part in a series of workshops focused on recreational and activities for children and the elderly. The programme brings together volunteers from different communities and professional backgrounds—including teachers, kindergartens, and psychological counselling—who want to strengthen their skills and support others in their communities.

In the first of 7 planned workshops, 10 female participants joined from different parts of the West Bank, including Ramallah, Hebron, Jenin, and Jerusalem. Investing in local knowledge and people is an important step toward long-term resilience, care, and community recovery 🌱.

This initiative is implemented by our local partner NGO Women of the Sun and funded by Ministrstvo za zunanje in evropske zadeve RS / Slovenian Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs 🇸🇮 & Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Republic of Korea 🇰🇷.

In northeast Syria 🇸🇾, cooperation between communities and teams of our local partner Reachout, supported by ITF, helped identify and remove deadly explosive hazards from a village near Al-Qamishli - protecting lives, livelihoods, and everyday routines.

Andrew, one of ITF’s humanitarian mine action advisors supporting the programme, shares a new story about how risk education, reporting, and rapid response work together to make communities safer.

ITF humanitarian mine action activities in NES are supported by French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs 🇫🇷
