It has been a journey indeed!⭐
🌳🐸🏕️Supported by mountains, hills, rivers, and trees, as we love to do it, surrounded by nature; 39 youth workers, trainers, mentors, facilitators, and volunteers took the time to pause and reflect on their youth work practice.
From 20–27 June, we gathered for the fifth edition of training supported with adventure and outdoor based methodology, this time with a focus on Rethinking youth work, beginning our journey in Bohinj and continuing on a hill above Litija, a place that has become home to many meaningful learning experiences.
🌿 This training is built on a simple idea: that nature is not only a beautiful setting, but an active partner in learning. Through outdoor and experiential approaches, participants explored questions about themselves, their work, their relationships with young people, and the future of youth work itself. We notice so often the most important learning doesn't happen in a closed space or a classroom. It happens while walking a mountain trail, listening to a river, sitting quietly beneath a tree, or sharing a meaningful conversation around the fire.
🌞 We feel incredibly grateful to create this space together with our trainers Olya, Jaka, Tina and Aljaž, and with the wonderful support of Nika and Erika. Big thanks also go to Jan and Alenka for cocreation in our previous editions. And to all participants with whom we grew each year! And of course all of this would not be possible without the European funding through the Erasmus+: Youth programme. 🇪🇺
💚 What gives us lots of joy is returning year after year with almost the same hosting team. The trust and connection we have built over time seem to create the even better conditions for others to open up, contribute meaningfully, and become co-creators of the experience. We hope that feeling continues to spread, one training at a time.
A biiiiig thank you to everyone who co-created this year's journey. Thank you for your openness, your questions, your courage to explore, and your trust in the process and especially in the uncertainty🙂.
We hope that at least a few of the questions, insights, and moments continue to accompany you, in your work, in your communities, and beyond. 💚
