Most of us learn the basics of Nonviolent Communication.
We understand the concepts. We know the tools.

But then real life happens.
We’re tired. Triggered. Defensive. Overwhelmed.
And suddenly everything we learned feels far away.

That’s why spaces like IIT matter.

Not because you learn “more information,”
but because you spend days living and practicing NVC with people who care about the same kind of relationships, honesty, and connection that you do.

That’s where it starts moving from the head into the body.

On May 23, we’re hosting a free online conversation with Roxy Manning:

What if the hardest conversations in your life could become a place of deeper understanding — instead of shame, defensiveness, or disconnection?

Many people discover Nonviolent Communication because they long for more honesty, closeness, and compassion in their relationships. But when things get real, old patterns often take over.

In this short clip, Roxy Manning speaks about one of the things that surprises people most in her work:
how much compassion they begin to feel — even for the parts of themselves they once felt ashamed of.

What if your needs don’t disappear just because nobody meets them?

In this clip, Iris Bawidamann explores a different relationship with needs through Nonviolent Communication.

Instead of spending all our energy trying to get something from the outside, what happens when we discover that needs are already alive within us?

That connection can become an inner anchor —
especially in stressful times.

This session is part of the IIT Slovenia Warm Up Series and is based on the “Beauty of Needs” approach by Robert Gonzales.

What helps us stay grounded when life feels overwhelming?

In this recorded session from the IIT Slovenia Warm Up Series, Iris Bawidamann explores how connection with needs can become a real inner anchor — especially in stressful times.

Based on the “Beauty of Needs” approach by Robert Gonzales, this session invites a more embodied experience of NVC:
not just understanding needs mentally, but learning how the body can remember them even under pressure.

✨ Topics explored:
– staying calm in challenging situations
– physical connection with needs
– agency and inner steadiness
– NVC in everyday life

In this session, Iris Bawidamann — experienced NVC trainer, trauma therapist, and facilitator — explores how staying connected to our needs can become a real...

Acceptance isn’t about liking what’s happening.
It’s about not fighting reality.

This is something Iris Bawidamann keeps coming back to —
and you can feel it in the way she speaks.

If you want to explore this more with her live, you’re invited to join next week ✨

What if the Self has no needs?

In this short excerpt, Jürgen Engel shares a different perspective on needs — one that connects Nonviolent Communication with the IFS (Internal Family Systems) approach.

Instead of “me having needs”,
he points to the parts within us that carry them.
