Friends Of Yew Tee

Friends Of Yew Tee Yew Tee is the name of a village off Woodlands Road, which was also given in 1996 to an MRT station serving the area. Yew Tee means "oil pond" in Teochew.

The village was so named because oil was stored there during the Japanese Occupation. We, grassroots leaders in Yew Tee through this group hope to develop friendship with our residents and together let's build a friendly & cohesive Yew Tee community! Our Grassroots Organisations in Yew Tee:

💗💍 Love was in the air at our very own vows renewal ceremony, I Still Do @ Yew Tee! It was a meaningful evening where couples — both newlyweds and those who have shared a lifetime together — could reminisce on their journey, cherish the bond they have built and perhaps fall just a little more in love with each other.

We also took the chance to hear from a few couples in our community about their love stories. Watch to the end to see what their marriage means to each of them and why love is always worth celebrating! 🫰

P.S. Did you get to write a letter to your partner at the event? Keep a lookout for your mailbox in 3 months’ time — your very last event keepsake will be coming your way soon! 💌

🏭 Last Sunday, our Happy Bus took residents on a once-in-a-lifetime guided tour of forgotten landmarks from Singapore’s early years — the former Shell blending lubricant plant, an abandoned mental hospital and Singapore’s first and only refugee camp. This was one of .sg’s final tours of the Shell lubricant blending plant before its demolition later this year, making it especially memorable for all our tour participants.

The Happy Bus is an event series that hopes to bring our Yew Tee community to the most exciting and unexpected corners of Singapore, from fun shopping trips to thrilling urban adventures together. Let us know in the comments below if you enjoyed this tour and where the Happy Bus should take you next! 🚌💫
