It took me many years of reflection and processing of my childhood, my own parenting journey - feeling - grieving and acknowledging - to arrive at this nuanced perspective of the messy and yet beautiful intergenerational relationships between my caregivers - my grandfather & my mother.

Similarly to you reader, I acknowledge how there may have been pain and there may have been care. And how the unique experience shaped a part of you & influenced your own journey.

I want you to remember that no matter what your conclusion is - please know you are always deserving of love, dignity, respect, consideration, joy, peace, ease, freedom and all the universal needs that makes us human and alive ❤️‍🩹💖🌸🎉🤲

Wherever this Mother’s Day finds you, joyful, exhausted, grieving, healing, doubting yourself, or holding it all together quietly, may you meet yourself with a little more gentleness today. 💛

You don’t have to mother perfectly to be worthy of love and care too.

📣 LAST CALL! What if the thing holding your clients back… is also hard for you to stay with?

It’s common to feel some hesitation around work at this depth.

Sometimes it’s fear of what might come up.
Or concern about whether we can safely hold it for others.

A big part of this work is learning how to make it safe again to be in relationship
and to move toward what feels vulnerable.

Because when we can stay connected
to the present and to each other
healing can happen.

For practitioners, this often becomes the deeper work.
Not just learning techniques,
but building the capacity to stay present with what emerges.

We had officially closed registrations, but a few last-minute participants reached out, so we’ve decided to extend registration until tomorrow, 8 May.

This will also be the last time will be offering this training in Singapore in the foreseeable future. We are ever so grateful for her. 🥹

What happens when your client triggers you?

One of the simplest ways to begin understanding the nervous system is to pause and ask:

Am I feeling safe or unsafe right now?
And how do I know?

If the answer is unsafe,
is it something happening in the present…
or something my body is carrying from the past?

For practitioners, this question isn’t just for our clients.

There are moments in sessions where something a client shares can feel activating, uncomfortable, or hard to stay present with.

In those moments, our ability to notice what’s happening in ourselves and come back to a sense of safety can make a big difference in how we hold the space.

This is part of the work.

Learning to track both the client’s nervous system and our own, and to respond in a way that supports regulation rather than reaction.

This is the kind of awareness and in-the-moment capacity we begin to build in
Trauma-Informed Relational Somatics (TIRS).

If you’re working with people, you’re working with trauma, whether it’s named or not.

You might notice moments where sessions feel stuck. A client gets triggered and doesn’t return. Or something deeper comes up and you’re not quite sure how to respond.

It doesn’t necessarily mean something is wrong. Sometimes it just means you’ve reached the edge of the tools you currently have and may need to pivot.

This is often where somatic and relational work starts to matter more.

Trauma-Informed Relational Somatics (TIRS)
is a professional training that supports practitioners to:
✨ work with unresolved trauma more safely
✨ respond in the moment with more clarity and attunement
✨ and build the capacity to hold what arises

It also invites you into your own inner work. The depth we can hold for others is often shaped by what we’ve explored ourselves.

📅 11–15 May 2026 | Joo Chiat
⏳ Registration closes 4 May

We also have a small number of partial sponsorship spots available, just send us a DM.

What actually shifts when we work with trauma through the body?

For someone in fight or flight,
we often see a return to calm and safety.

For someone in freeze,
there’s often a coming back to aliveness—
energy, emotion, and engagement begin to return.

This is the nuance of somatic work—
meeting the body where it is, and supporting what it needs.

If you’re a practitioner looking to deepen this capacity:

What does healing actually look like?

Not fixing.
Not forcing change.

But coming back—again and again—to:
curiosity, compassion, and accountability.

When we’re triggered, overwhelmed, or stuck…
it’s easy to move into judgment or shut down.

But what if, instead, we could:
– stay curious about what’s happening within us
– meet ourselves (and our children) with more compassion
– take small steps toward accountability, without shame

This is the work.

And this is what we’ll be exploring in

What if the work you do to support others…
also becomes the space where you begin to heal?

Karyn Suwito |Childbirth & Postpartum , a birth doula and educator, joined Trauma-Informed Relational Somatics (TIRS) to deepen her work with parents.

But what she experienced was something more.

Not just learning.
Not just tools.
But a space where healing happened—
in the small moments,
in being deeply heard,
and in feeling completely safe in a group.

And through that,
she found herself doing her own healing too.

Joline Jo - The Learning Parent SG 🇸🇬 , who also went through the training, shared how it deepened her awareness—not just as a coach, but as a mum.
Especially around emotional safety, and what it means to hold space for others responsibly.

This is the part many don’t expect—
that this work is not just professional, but deeply personal.
