The NTUC May Day Awards 2026 will honour union leaders and management partners who have made a difference in the lives of workers and the Singapore workforce. This has been held annually since 1963, being one of the Labour Movement’s signature events to mark workers’ contributions in Singapore.

Congratulations to:

Sister Tan Poh Lay, President of SIEU to be conferred with Comrade of Labour (Star) Award.

AND

Sister Angie Ng, Chief People Officer Income Insurance Limited to be conferred with the Medal of Commendation Award.

It's another turn of the year. As we welcome 2026 and look back in 2025, we have much to be thankful for.

We witnessed the new Executive Council elected earlier this year and we celebrated 70 years of trade unionism in the insurance industry through a 4-part series. We also closed off one of the most complex cases SIEU has seen. And still, we choose to be thankful, we choose to be united and we choose to persevere on. As our original slogan says "onwards as one".

2026 has its own ups and downs but what will remain central to SIEU - is you, our members. It has always been and forever shall be.

May we all share a better year ahead.
