Sing'theatre proposes classes and Musical Theatre events to musical enthusiasts from all walks of life to practise and learn musical theatre with professional artists. Sing’theatre is an English-speaking professional theatre company that strives to use music and theatre to enhance society in three ways: sharing cultural heritage, bringing joy to hospital patients and improving social skills.
1.
Sharing Cultural Heritage: “Music and theatre as a communication channel for mutual understanding.”
Since its inception in 2006, Sing’theatre has been lauded for its high quality shows that promote cultural exchange by presenting the works of iconic French and European performers, musicals written in Singapore and famous European plays. In 2013 Sing’theatre presented the Asian premier of 8 Women, which garnered a Best Supporting Actress award at the 2014 LIFE! Theatre Awards and its most recent shows, La Vie en Rose and A Singaporean in Paris received rave reviews.
2. Bringing Joy to Hospital Patients: “A dose of music to keep the blues away.”
Sing’theatre is committed to bringing music to Singapore hospitals through their community outreach program. MusicFest@SGH, organised by Sing’theatre every year, brings hundreds of performers to Singapore General Hospital’s campus to delight with nearly 50 free performances. Sing’theatre also organises Musical Rendezvous@NUH, a series of monthly live musical events.
3. Enhancing Social Skills: “Music and theatre to ignite all areas of development.”
Since September 2014, Sing’theatre’s Sing’theatre Academy has been enriching its students lives through musical theatre classes and stage presence workshops.
