Hagar Singapore Hagar restores to wholeness the lives of women and children in Afghanistan, Cambodia, Singapore & Vietnam that have been torn apart by human rights abuse.

Hagar is an international organisation committed to the recovery of trafficked, abused, and exploited women and children through restorative programmes and social enterprises. In Singapore, we work closely with the Government's Inter-Agency Taskforce on Trafficking-in-Persons on initiatives to enhance understanding of human trafficking within the local enforcement community, and provide critical trauma recovery services to girls who have been trafficked to Singapore for sexual exploitation.

Why do you race?

For returning participant Joshua, the answer is simple:
“For the survivors rebuilding their lives day by day.” 🤝

Since 2021, Joshua has been leveraging his network—inspiring friends and colleagues to donate and join the challenge. He even hosts intentional gatherings with Hagar staff so his community can truly understand the life-changing impact of their support.

Why 40.3?

The name comes from a number: in 2019, the UN estimated that 40.3 million people were trapped in modern slavery.

TODAY? Nearly 50 million, and rising - driven by conflict, poverty, and crises that leave the most vulnerable exposed to exploitation.

Behind that number are individual lives - each with a story, a family and a future worth fighting for.

That’s why we call it the 40.3+ Freedom Race.

This year, we aim to raise support for 4,000 survivors through Hagar’s work across Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, Afghanistan and beyond. 🌏

Every step you take in this race, however you choose to move, wherever you are -> helps write someone else’s next chapter. ✨

Together, we’re on a mission to bring hope, healing and protection to 4,000 survivors of human trafficking, slavery and abuse.

How it works:

1️⃣ Join: Sign up as an individual or form a team

💛 “You Are Loved.”

That was the simple but powerful message that friends from Seletar Tamil Methodist Church shared with our migrant sisters over the weekend.

Leaving behind their homes, families and familiar surroundings, migrant workers come to Singapore in search of better opportunities – often carrying with them uncertainty about what lies ahead.

Through an afternoon of meaningful games, activities and connection, our volunteers wanted the ladies to know that they are seen, valued and cared for by the community here. ❤️

For some of the migrant sisters, the afternoon brought tears; and in those tender moments, they found a listening ear, a comforting presence and someone simply willing to sit with them.

Building a safer, kinder and more inclusive Singapore takes all of us.

A huge thank you to our 21 wonderful volunteers for giving up their Saturday and bringing so much heart, warmth and joy to our migrant sisters! 🥰
