Hagar Singapore

Hagar Singapore Hagar restores to wholeness the lives of women and children in Afghanistan, Cambodia, Singapore & Vietnam that have been torn apart by human rights abuse.

Hagar is an international organisation committed to the recovery of trafficked, abused, and exploited women and children through restorative programmes and social enterprises. In Singapore, we work closely with the Government's Inter-Agency Taskforce on Trafficking-in-Persons on initiatives to enhance understanding of human trafficking within the local enforcement community, and provide critical trauma recovery services to girls who have been trafficked to Singapore for sexual exploitation.

This National Day, we're reflecting on a different kind of freedom.

One Hagar beneficiary once told us that freedom wasn't about the big things. It was choosing how to spend the day. Deciding what to eat. Walking without feeling afraid.

The everyday choices many of us rarely have to think twice about.

As we celebrate Singapore's 61st birthday, we're grateful for the freedom we enjoy, and hopeful for a future where everyone can experience safety, dignity and freedom.

Happy National Day, Singapore. ❤️

Every memorable event is made possible by the people behind the scenes. 💛

At the Hagar Charity Golf 2026 last Friday, that was our incredible volunteers.

From welcoming golfers and guests, to running our on-course novelty games, serving snacks and drinks throughout the day, managing the auction and donation drive and taking care of countless details in between - you gave your time, energy and heart so others could simply enjoy the day.

Thank you for faithfully showing up for Hagar and the survivors we serve, often in ways that went unseen. Every smile, every conversation and every act of service helped create a day filled with generosity, hope and purpose.

We are deeply grateful for each and every one of you. 💛

Last Friday, we teed off for freedom at the Hagar Charity Golf 2026 - our 10th tournament! 🎉⛳

To every golfer who has journeyed with us over the past decade - thank you for showing up year after year. Because of your generosity, encouragement and unwavering support, over 25,000 survivors of trafficking and abuse have found safety, healing and hope.

This year, our Mulligan carried a deeper meaning: while a second chance can change the game, for survivors, a second chance can change a life. And through our Matched Giving initiative, every dollar given on the night was doubled, creating even greater impact.

To our incredible sponsors and partners, thank you for standing with Hagar and helping make every tournament possible. Ten years on, we truly couldn't have done this without you. 👉 Ark Industries , HL Assurance , TaylorMade Golf Singapore , Sunray , adidas , Under Armour

💛 Here's to the next decade of creating hope, healing and second chances together.

Year after year over the past decade, our incredible community has shown that a day on the golf course can create hope, healing and second chances for women and children recovering from trafficking, slavery and abuse.

She was abandoned in a rubbish bin at birth. She grew up exploited, alone, and told she was worth nothing.

Today, Aly is a Hagar staff member, a survivor leader, and one of the most powerful forces we have against trafficking in Cambodia.

This is what happens when someone is given enough time, enough care, and enough belief that her life has value.

Aly is one of 76 survivor leaders now active in Hagar’s Cambodia network. Women who once had nothing now mentoring, advocating, and protecting others.

Your gift today can help more women move from surviving to leading.

Give before 31 July to give her a fresh start.

Some stories stop you in your tracks.

This is one of them.

Aly’s words. Aly’s strength. And over the coming weeks, we’re sharing her full story, what she survived, what she built, and what she’s making possible for others.

Stay close.

Most people know that trafficking is a problem. Fewer know what happens after someone gets out.

Recovery isn't a single moment -- it's shelter, then safety, then slowly beginning to trust again. It's legal advice, counselling, learning a skill, finishing school. It's nonlinear and long, and it requires people who show up not just once, but consistently, for as long as it takes 🩵

At Hagar, that's exactly what we do. Swipe to see what the journey looks like ➡️🫶

Some mothers have carried burdens no one should ever have to carry.

Today, we honour every mother -- who nurtures quietly, loves fiercely, sacrifices endlessly, and keeps showing up no matter what.

We especially hold close the mothers who have walked through pain, survived trafficking and unimaginable circumstances, and found the strength to rebuild again and again. ❣️

To every mother and mother figure: you are seen, valued, and deeply honoured. Happy Mother’s Day🌷

Today’s a bittersweet one at Hagar - we’re saying goodbye (for now) to our standout intern, Samantha 💛🥲

Turning 19, she came in for two months… and left a lasting mark. From shaping our Youth Chapter to driving a dedicated creative project we’re building towards a potential 2027 launch (stay tuned ✨), Samantha didn’t just contribute – she created, led, and inspired.

But beyond all she’s done, it’s her heart, courage, and joy that we’ll miss most. Not quite goodbye (thankfully!!), she’ll still be journeying with us as she heads into university, yay!! 🔥

Thank you, Sam, for giving Hagar far more than we could have ever asked for. You are truly one in a million – we’re so proud of you, and excited for all that lies ahead. Onwards and upwards! 💪🏻🙌🏻🌷
