ia and other parties regarding the haze. It is also a way for members of the public to learn about H.E.A.T.’s latest efforts. This page will feature information about the haze, what H.E.A.T. is doing, and what the public can do to help. H.E.A.T.’s Plans
- Mobilise anyone in the region interested to join
- Mount an education campaign for farmers
- Boycott companies identified as offenders
- Sue the companies now that the law allows us

Members of H.E.A.T. have collaborated with the Singapore Environmental Council (SEC) and the Singapore Institute of International Affairs (SIIA) on the haze issue. has also provided feedback on the current Transboundary Haze Pollution Bill. In 2007, HEAT raised some S$20,000 for an education campaign in Jambi, a province in South Sumatra, to urge local farmers not to engage in slash-and-burn practices. Although successful, the agreement that enabled the campaign to be conducted lapsed in 2011 and despite appeals from Singapore, has not been renewed by the Indonesia.
