From relearning life’s basics to rebuilding strength step by step, Mun Chong’s journey is a powerful story of resilience, patience, and determination.

After facing a life-changing medical condition at a young age, he had to start over and relearn fundamental skills. Today, through persistent rehabilitation and the support of dedicated therapists and staff, he continues to make steady progress in his recovery.

In this interview, Mun Chong shares about his daily life at Singapore Cheshire Home, his rehabilitation routine, and how he stays motivated driven by the mindset of “If not now, then when?”

Despite being over 60 years old, he embraces challenges with courage and an open heart, reminding us that it’s never too late to try new things and keep moving forward.

What an unforgettable day at Mandai Wildlife Reserve, Singapore Zoo on 14 May 2026! 🦁🐘✨

A huge thank you to Beacon Consulting Pte Ltd for generously organising and sponsoring this amazing outing for us! We were blessed with beautiful weather. As we happily explored the zoo, we spotted our favourite animals, and enjoyed every exciting moment together.

One of the highlights was watching the entertaining animal show. During the 20-minute performance, the kind volunteers surprised us with ice cream treats! 🍦😊

After all the fun and excitement, we enjoyed a delicious dinner at Ah Meng Restaurant before ending the day with a joyful trip to the souvenir shop. Beacon Consulting Pte Ltd also kindly sponsored special souvenir gifts and T-shirts for everyone, making the experience even more memorable. 👕🎁

It was truly a day filled with laughter, smiles, and precious memories that we will always treasure. Thank you once again to Beacon Consulting Pte Ltd and all the wonderful volunteers for making us feel so loved and cared for! ❤️

Hi everyone, my name is Guo Rong. I use a motorised wheelchair to get around after a major stroke a few years ago.

Boarding the train can be challenging when it is crowded, especially when there is little space to move or position myself safely. Giving me a bit of time and some extra room makes a big difference for someone in my situation.

Your small actions of kindness in busy public spaces can go a long way in making public transport smoother and more inclusive for all 🙌

Happy Myna, a volunteer group supported by the Japanese Association of Singapore, has for years adopted Singapore Cheshire Home, visiting the Home every fortnight. This group of dedicated Japanese ladies bring joy through their meaningful interaction with our residents and daycare clients.

These sessions begin with some simple exercises tailored for those with lower mobility and multiple disabilities. Activities include fun hand-movement exercises using musical instruments, followed by sing-along sessions with familiar songs such as “Top of the World.” All sessions are carried out with guidance from our therapy aides to ensure the beneficiaries receive their proper care.

In addition, Happy Myna has been a strong supporter of our annual handicrafts sale held at the Japanese Association of Singapore. We are truly grateful for their continued commitment and support throughout the years.

Thank you Happy Myna Team for your dedication, kindness, and the happiness you bring to our community! 💛

Our Healthcare Attendants and Nursing Assistants often go beyond their nursing duties of giving medication and dressing residents' wounds.

When needed, they also help to feed residents such as Chin Ngoh, who isn't able to feed herself. Our Nursing Assistant Phy Phy will assist in feeding her.

There are many instances where our staff treat our residents with care and concern just like a family. ❤️

Hi, I’m Prabhakaran Sashwin. Despite judgement and doubt because I use a wheelchair, I choose to prove it’s not the end, but a new beginning. I see myself as physically challenged, not disabled, and continue growing through art, writing, therapy, boccia and support from Singapore Cheshire Home—turning negativity into positivity as I continue writing my life story. 💪💪
