Built to Win: The Ecosystem Behind Singapore’s Cyclists 🚴🇸🇬

Last Wednesday, the Singapore Cycling Federation was proud to host the Fireside & Networking Evening in partnership with Motul Asia Pacific, bringing together business leaders, partners, athletes, and stakeholders from across Singapore’s sporting ecosystem.

At the heart of the evening were Singapore’s cyclists—their journeys, aspirations, and the collective effort required to support them in pursuing success on the regional and world stage.

Through our fireside discussion, Built to Win: The Ecosystem Behind Singapore’s Cyclists, we explored how athlete development extends far beyond competition. From coaching and high-performance support to industry partnerships and community backing, sporting success is made possible by a strong ecosystem working towards a common goal.

Our national athletes, Elizabeth Liau and Valencia Tan, together with our High Performance Director, Shayne Bannan, shared valuable perspectives on the realities of elite sport—the sacrifices, discipline, resilience, and determination required to represent Singapore at the highest level. Their stories served as a powerful reminder of the impact that sustained support and meaningful partnerships can have on an athlete’s journey.

We also reflected on the opportunities for businesses and stakeholders to play a greater role in shaping the future of Singapore sport, helping to create pathways that enable our athletes to thrive both on and off the bike.

A sincere thank you to Motul Asia Pacific, our guests, partners, and supporters for contributing to an evening of meaningful conversations, new connections, and a shared commitment towards advancing Singapore cycling.

Together, we are building more than sporting success—we are building an ecosystem that empowers Singapore athletes to dream bigger, go further, and inspire the next generation.

If your organisation is interested in supporting athlete development, exploring partnership opportunities, or learning more about how you can contribute to Singapore’s sporting success, we invite you to connect with the Singapore Cycling Federation. We welcome conversations with like-minded partners who believe in the power of sport to create lasting impact.
