🚨 SCAM ALERT: Seniors, Stay Safe from Fake Active Ageing Centre Advertisements! 🚨

Dear PCS Cedar Tree AAC seniors, stay alert! ❤️
Scammers can be friendly, helpful, and convincing. Even if someone shares photos of activities or claims to be an AAC staff member, always take a moment to verify.
Here are 5 ways to protect yourself:
✅ Verify before you trust.
If you see an advertisement for senior activities, check directly with the AAC using its official contact details.
📵 Never download unknown apps.
Do not install apps or APK files sent through WhatsApp, SMS, or social media, even if someone claims they are needed to register for activities.
🔐 Never share your OTP.
Do not reveal one-time passwords, banking details, or Singpass information to anyone.
⏸️ Stop and check.
If someone pressures you to act quickly, download an app, or follow unfamiliar instructions, pause and speak to a trusted family member or PCS Cedar Tree AAC staff member first.
📞 Act quickly if something feels wrong.
If you have downloaded a suspicious app or suspect your bank account has been compromised, contact your bank immediately to secure your account. Call the 24-hour ScamShield Helpline at 1799 for scam-related advice.

💚 Remember, it is always okay to ask for help.
You do not need to handle suspicious messages or calls alone. Please share this reminder with your family and friends so we can keep one another safe. At PCS Cedar Tree AAC, your safety and well-being matter to us.

Let's stay alert, look out for one another, and keep our community scam-safe. Reach out to your nearest PCS Cedar Tree Active Ageing Centre through our official contact page to verify any information before responding, downloading an app or sharing personal details.

👂✨ Hearing Well, Living Well! ✨👂

This week, our seniors had the opportunity to attend an insightful session on hearing loss, conducted by Mr Luke Tan, Founder of The Hearing Room! 🎤

Our seniors learnt more about the causes of hearing loss, why it is often overlooked or neglected, and the importance of addressing it early. More importantly, they gained a better understanding of how hearing loss can have an impact on dementia risk, physical well-being and everyday safety. 🧠💪🚶‍♀️

It was an informative and meaningful session that reminded us that taking care of our hearing is also taking care of our overall well-being. ❤️

A big thank you to Mr Luke Tan for sharing his knowledge and practical insights with our seniors! 👏

Last Saturday, our seniors had a meaningful and enjoyable time with a wonderful group of ACSI students! 👏😊

Our seniors picked up some useful first aid skills through a hands-on demonstration, learning what to do in everyday situations when help may be needed. 🩹⛑️ After the learning session, everyone enjoyed a delicious lunch together and spent some quality time chatting, laughing and getting to know one another. 🍱😄 To make the day even sweeter, our seniors also received mooncakes to enjoy and share during this festive season! 🥮🌕✨

A big thank you to the ACSI students for spending their Saturday with our seniors and making the day so meaningful, as well as to Swiss Club Resident Network for sponsoring the mooncakes to our seniors. 💕 It was wonderful to see different generations come together, learn from one another and create happy memories together!

💡 Knowledge Today, Peace of Mind Tomorrow! 💙

This afternoon, our seniors had an informative sharing session by Lions Befrienders, where they learnt more about important matters that can help them and their loved ones plan ahead. 📚✨

The session covered topics including CPF Nomination, Advance Care Planning (ACP), Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA), and Advance Medical Directive (AMD). Our seniors had the opportunity to better understand what these arrangements mean and why planning ahead can help ensure their wishes are respected. 📝❤️

It was an engaging and meaningful session, with our seniors actively participating and asking questions along the way! 🙋‍♀️🙋‍♂️ Even better, those who were interested could sign up for Advance Care Planning (ACP) after the session, allowing them to take the next step towards planning for their future. 🌱

A big thank you to Lions Befrienders for spending the afternoon with us and equipping our seniors with knowledge that truly matter! 🤝💙

🥛✨ A YAKULT-astic Day Out! ✨🥛

What better way to spend our morning than with a fun and educational trip to the Yakult Factory! 😍

Our seniors had a great time listening to an informative talk and going on a guided tour, where they got a glimpse into how Yakult drinks are made. 🏭🥛 From learning about the production process to seeing the factory in action, there was plenty to discover!

And of course… no Yakult outing would be complete without bringing some home! 😂🛍️ Our seniors happily stocked up on their favourite drinks to enjoy later!

After working up an appetite, we headed back to our centre for a delicious lunch together. 🍽️❤️ We were also treated to a lovely music performance, making the afternoon even more enjoyable. 🎶

To end the day on a festive note, everyone went home with a mooncake to enjoy with their loved ones this Mid-Autumn Festival. 🥮🌕✨ It was a day filled with learning, laughter, good food, music and festive cheer! 💕
