My supervisor gave me one job:
Make sure every senior who joins Waves of Hope gets paired with a youth volunteer.
The more I learnt about this event, the more I realised... this isn't your typical volunteer event.

We’re looking for volunteer hairstylists!

A fresh haircut may seem like a small thing, but for many seniors and low-income residents, it can bring a renewed sense of confidence, dignity, and well-being. At Ascending Hope, we conduct monthly haircut sessions in Whampoa, Bishan, and Bendemeer, and we’re currently facing a shortage of volunteer hairstylists.🥹

Whether you’re a salon hairstylist, barber, freelance, retired hairstylist or someone currently learning hairdressing, you’re warmly welcome to join us 💙

🕒 About 2 hours per session
📅 Once a month or whenever you’re available
📍 Whampoa • Bishan • Bendemeer

This is a meaningful opportunity to build your confidence, gain hands-on experience, and use your skills to serve the community at the same time.

💙 A minimum donation of $30 per participant is all it takes to join the adventure. Your donation helps support Ascending Hope's programmes for vulnerable seniors, families and youths, bringing hope, strengthening wellbeing, and building a more caring community.

Every step you take helps someone else take a step towards hope.
