🌍 **Attention, Members: Important Update on recent Global Public Health Emergency Declaration from World Health Organization** 🌍

Dear ACSA Members,

We want to inform you of the latest World Health Organization (WHO) declaration regarding Monkeypox.

🔍 **Key Points from the WHO Advisory:**

1. **Current Situation**: The WHO has reported an outbreak of monkeypox with increasing cases in various regions. It's essential to stay informed about the geographical spread and impactful measures suggested by health authorities.

2. **Transmission Awareness**: Monkeypox is primarily spread through close physical contact. Understanding how the virus transmits is vital in implementing prevention strategies within our communities.

3. **Symptoms to Watch For**: Common symptoms include fever, rash, and swollen lymph nodes. Members are encouraged to familiarize themselves with these symptoms and advise others to seek medical consultation if they present.

4. **Prevention Guidelines**: The WHO recommends practicing good hygiene, avoiding close contact with infected individuals, and using personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary, especially in healthcare settings.

5. **Vaccination and Treatment**: While there is no specific treatment for monkeypox, antiviral medications and smallpox vaccines are available and may provide benefits. The WHO may provide vaccination guidelines based on local context and risk assessments.

🔗 **Stay Informed**: We encourage all members to regularly check the WHO website and Ministry of Health Singapore (MOH) advisories for the latest information and guidelines.

🤝 **We’re Here to Help**: If you have questions or need resources regarding monkeypox, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us. Together, we can help mitigate the risks and protect our communities.

Let’s stay safe and informed!
