🔧 REPAIR IS FOR EVERYONE ⚙️
National Repair Day
Sunday, 21 December 2025
Our final National Repair Day of 2025 has ended with a great result, breaking our highest number of items repaired in a single year.
As we prepare for 2026, which will definitely be another great repair year ahead, we would like to thank everyone who has supported our cause and efforts to attend to more repairs, so as to give all potential faulty items a chance to enjoy an extended life.
We were sad that Pekkio decided not to continue with Repair Kopitiam in order to focus on other projects. We ended the year with 10 repair venues and hope to find another venue in the vicinity to pick up where Pekkio left off in 2025, as we want to continue serving Pekkio residents. In the meantime, residents may choose to visit RK@Citysprouts, RK@Henderson, RKS@AMK, or RKS@Lor Lew Lian.
Happy New Year to all. We hope that 2026 will be an even greater repair year. At the start of 2026, we already know that we will be welcoming at least four new repair venues into our Repair Kopitiam and Repair Club families.
2025 full-year statistics show that we registered 1,708 participants, representing a 7.8 percent increase compared to 2024, when 1,639 people were coached. A total of 2,329 items were registered in 2025, an increase of 3.2 percent over 2024, when 2,257 items were brought in. This also means there was a slight drop in the average number of items brought in per visitor, from 1.38 items per person in 2024 to 1.36 items per person in 2025.
We managed to repair 1,485 items, achieving a 63.8 percent success rate. There were 109 returning items, mostly because the first repair attempt was unsuccessful and owners needed time to purchase proprietary parts.
In 2024, we welcomed Downtown Line Tampines Station as a repair venue. Due to the convenience of the location and its accessibility by public transport, we observed that visitors to this venue were much more inclined to use public transportation. For the full year 2025 survey, nationally, 42 percent of participants arrived by private car or Grab, 28 percent came by walking or personal mobility devices, and 22 percent used public transport such as buses or MRT. At the Downtown Line Tampines Station venue, only 22 percent arrived by private car or Grab, 15 percent came by walking or personal mobility devices, while a significantly higher 58 percent used public transport.
Looking ahead to 2026, we look forward to coaching more people to repair their items. Your continued support for Repair Kopitiam will help us achieve our goals. We wish everyone a healthier and happier 2026.
