For RippleSDG17, the Egypt team proudly took action on SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being by turning a simple idea into a powerful movement—running together for health, community, and change.
The initiative was built around a weekly marathon-style running event, designed to promote physical activity while raising awareness about healthcare and well-being in Egypt. At its heart, the project aimed to remind people that good health begins with small, consistent habits, and that sport can be a unifying force for positive change.
Organized by our Commandos - Hesham, Fares, and Magdy, the team of commandos was lead by our core team lead Youssef. The team is committed to continue to organize and motivate the community. I want to take an opportunity to thank the custodians who participated in the event. Each run brought together approximately 25 custodians and citizens, with 6 dedicated team members running consistently every week, while the rest were local participants who joined to support the cause.
Over the course of four consecutive weeks, the running team transformed public spaces into symbols of resilience and motivation. The sight of people running together not only encouraged others to engage in sports, but also sparked conversations about preventive healthcare, mental well-being, and the importance of staying active in everyday life.
This initiative was not about competition—it was about commitment. Commitment to health. Commitment to community. Commitment to building a culture where movement and well-being are accessible to everyone.
By the end of the four weeks, the Egypt team successfully wrapped the initiative with measurable impact: increased participation, growing awareness, and a strong message that caring for one’s health is both a personal and collective responsibility.
Through this marathon initiative, the Egypt team demonstrated how simple actions, when done together, can create ripples of change—perfectly embodying the spirit of RippleSDG17.
