Over 30 years ago, creating an accessible workshop floor meant building the tools from scratch.

As our longest-serving team member, Mr. Palanisamy Avaday (Mr. Samy) didn’t just adapt to challenges-he engineered solutions. From crafting pneumatic screwing fixtures to designing single-handed adaptive jigs, he made work accessible for trainees with fine motor and coordination challenges.

As part of our 40th Anniversary Legacy Feature, swipe through Mr. Samy’s 30+ year journey with us: from his early days as an international Paralympian to becoming a key contributor of our growth. 💜

This meaningful recognition reflects our continued commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace that supports mental well-being, values every individual, and creates opportunities for all to thrive.

🎨✨ Last Saturday, Bizlink Centre participated in PA Cares @ President's Challenge 2026, where we showcased our AI-Assisted Graphic Design programme and the creative talents of our trainees.

Designed for adults with disabilities, participants learn design fundamentals, explore AI-tools, and create visual content on digital platforms.

Visitors to our booth had the opportunity to discover the digital artwork, personalised merchandise and creative projects produced by our trainees.

We are grateful for the partnership and support from People's Association and President's Challenge in empowering persons with disabilities. 💜

In 1986, traditional welfare offered shelter and care - but rarely a path to financial independence. Bizlink was set up in 1986 by then Ministry of Community Development and the Singapore Council of Social Service to change that premise by charting employment for persons with disabilities.
Over four decades, our operational model has evolved from modest assembly workshops into a holistic empowering ecosystem spanning training, employment through our social enterprises, open employment, and job coaching. Today, we empower over 750 individuals annually.
Facilities, tools, and training programmes change, but our foundational truth endures: Given the right bridge, everyone can contribute.

Meet Mr. Palanisamy Avaday (Mr. Samy), a former international Paralympian and Bizlink’s longest-serving staff member!
When Mr. Samy first joined us in 1989 as a Line Leader, Bizlink was operating out of a modest workshop assembling umbrellas. Back then, opportunities for persons with disabilities in Singapore were extremely limited.
Over the last 30+ years, Mr. Samy rose from Line Leader to Supervisor, Trainer, and Project Executive. But his true legacy lies on the workshop floor, where he personally engineered custom adaptive tools, jigs, and pneumatic fixtures so trainees with disabilities could work safely, independently, and with pride.

As we approach Bizlink’s 40th Anniversary this November, Mr. Samy’s journey reminds us of one core truth: given patience, belief, and the right support, everyone can contribute meaningfully💙

A day of learning, connection and inclusion at the Singapore Oceanarium!

As part of the Sentosa Cares Week initiative, Bizlink beneficiaries were invited to enjoy an unforgettable outing to the Singapore Oceanarium, accompanied by enthusiastic corporate volunteers from Sentosa, Aurecon and ID Architects. Together, we explored the wonders of marine life, shared meaningful conversations, and created lasting memories.

The day was made even more special with the tour and a delicious buffet lunch generously sponsored by Aurecon and ID Architects. Thank you to all our partners and volunteers for your warmth, kindness, and commitment to building a more inclusive community where everyone can participate, connect, and thrive.

✨ Building Connections Through Inclusion ✨

We were delighted to partner with Flour Power and Frasers Hospitality for a meaningful CSR engagement that brought together corporate volunteers, persons with disabilities, trainees, and caregivers for an afternoon of connection, creativity, and shared experiences. Through a ribbon bracelet braiding activity and interactions over refreshments, participants forged new friendships, exchanged stories, and discovered the value of inclusion through meaningful engagement.

A special thank you to Flour Power for bringing this partnership together, and to Frasers Hospitality and their staff volunteers for their warmth, enthusiasm, and commitment to creating opportunities where everyone can participate, contribute, and belong.
Together, we are making inclusion a reality, one meaningful connection at a time. 💙
