Instead of letting them go unused and expire before 31 Dec 2026, you can now put them towards supporting Singapore’s theatre community through KampungSpirit, a government-backed platform developed by that makes it easy to donate unspent vouchers to participating organisations.

Your donation gives playwrights space to develop new work, supports mentorship and professional development for emerging theatre-makers, and helps keep Singapore’s theatre archive secure and publicly accessible!

Got a Malay-language script that’s looking for its next breakthrough? 📝

𝑵𝒆𝒘 𝑺𝒄𝒓𝒊𝒑𝒕𝒔 𝑮𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒈𝒆 returns this November with another round of focused dramaturgical support. No showcases, no pressure, just space to refine and rework your play-in-progress.

For this cycle, we’re welcoming 𝑴𝒂𝒍𝒂𝒚-𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒖𝒂𝒈𝒆 𝒔𝒄𝒓𝒊𝒑𝒕𝒔 𝒐𝒏𝒍𝒚! Submissions will be reviewed by our collaborators at Teater Ekamatra (Est. 1988), with readers from Singapore and Malaysia offering cross-border perspectives.

We’re accepting up to 8 𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒈𝒊𝒃𝒍𝒆 𝒇𝒖𝒍𝒍-𝒍𝒆𝒏𝒈𝒕𝒉 𝒔𝒄𝒓𝒊𝒑𝒕𝒔, with each playwright matched to the support best suited to their work, whether that’s a 𝑺𝒄𝒓𝒊𝒑𝒕 𝑪𝒊𝒓𝒄𝒍𝒆, 1-𝒐𝒏-1 𝑪𝒐𝒏𝒔𝒖𝒍𝒕, or 𝑾𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒏 𝑭𝒆𝒆𝒅𝒃𝒂𝒄𝒌.

Hiroshi Sugimoto: Form Is Emptiness marks the internationally acclaimed artist’s first major survey exhibition in Southeast Asia, bringing together 63 works from 11 series alongside 14 fossils from Sugimoto’s personal collection. On view at Singapore Art Museum (SAM) until 4 October 2026, the exhibition spans five decades of the artist’s exploration of time, space, perception and the relationship between appearance and reality.

Designed by Sugimoto, the exhibition layout takes the form of a mandala, inviting visitors to move through the works at their own pace and discover their own pathways through the space.

For this exhibition, Singapore Art Museum (SAM) presents its first audio access experience, developed in collaboration with Centre 42 , Podcasts • Music • Sound Design and playwright Joel Tan. Moving beyond a literal description of the artworks, the audio guide takes a more creative and meditative approach, inviting listeners to pause, reflect and consider the works and the ways they have been brought together

If you've ever wanted to write for the stage but weren't sure where to begin, 𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒚-𝒃𝒖𝒊𝒍𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈: 𝑾𝒂𝒚𝒔 𝒕𝒐 𝑩𝒆𝒈𝒊𝒏 𝑾𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑺𝒕𝒂𝒈𝒆 is for you.

Led by playwright 𝑴𝒊𝒄𝒉𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒆 𝑻𝒂𝒏, this 𝒆𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕-𝒔𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒄𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒔𝒆 explores the fundamentals of playwriting through a range of exploratory exercises, close reading and discussion of texts, and practical writing activities. Along the way, you'll begin shaping the building blocks of a play while discovering and refining your own writing process, from drafting and crafting to bringing your work off the page and into the world.

𝑾𝒉𝒐 𝒊𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒇𝒐𝒓?
🎭 Writers who are beginning to explore playwriting and aspire to tell stories for the stage. No prior playwriting experience is required, though an interest in theatre, whether as an audience member, enthusiast, performer, producer, or creator, will be helpful.

From a promising draft to a stronger play: develop your script with a dramaturg.

✍️𝙀𝙣𝙜𝙖𝙜𝙚-𝙖-𝘿𝙧𝙖𝙢𝙖𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙜 is Centre 42's initiative for playwrights developing new plays. From this November, you'll work one-on-one with a dramaturg over four months to deepen, refine, and strengthen your script.
