SCCA's Student Chapter and the Australia Singapore Law Studentsโ€™ Society (AUSLSS) were pleased to bring together law students and aspiring in-house lawyers for a webinar on 8 October to explore the different pathways into the profession.

Drawing on their experiences across the private, public and non-profit sectors, our expert speakers shared the decisions and opportunities that shaped their careers, offering a glimpse into their day-to-day roles and how expectations vary across organisations.

The session also explored the skills and mindsets that can help aspiring lawyers build an in-house career, whether preparing for their first legal role or considering a move from private practice.

The annual gathering provided a valuable opportunity to reconnect, exchange perspectives and explore closer collaboration, strengthening the collective voice of the in-house legal profession across Asia-Pacific.

A key highlight was the MOU signing welcoming Koreaโ€™s In-House Counsel Forum (IHCF) into APCCA, represented by its President Won-Young Jung. This marks another milestone in expanding the Allianceโ€™s regional network and fostering closer ties among in-house legal communities.

SCCAโ€™s ProBono Chapter was proud to be part of the launch ๐‹๐š๐ฐ ๐€๐ฐ๐š๐ซ๐ž๐ง๐ž๐ฌ๐ฌ ๐–๐ž๐ž๐ค๐ฌ @ ๐‚๐ƒ๐‚ (๐‹๐€๐–@๐‚๐ƒ๐‚) on 3 October. This kickstarts a series of nationwide talks to raise public awareness of common legal issues.

As part of this shared commitment, SCCA signed an extension of our Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Ministry of Law, Singapore, NUS Law, People's Association, Pro Bono SG, SMU Yong Pung How School of Law and SUSS School of Law.
