Statement from IFF President Filip Suman via Zuzana Svobodova below:

"I am pleased that we can entrust the 2028 Men's U19 World Floorball Championship to Singapore. The development of floorball in the Asian region is a long-term strategic priority for the IFF, and this event represents another crucial step in strengthening it. The junior championship is always exceptional because it is here that we can first witness the birth of the future stars of our sport at the highest level. I look forward to the inspiring performances that the 2028 tournament will undoubtedly bring.“

"Hosting the 2028 Men’s U19 World Floorball Championships is a significant milestone for Singapore floorball. We have seen the impact that major international events can have on the sport here, and to now welcome the world’s best young players to Singapore is another important step in our development."

A NEW CHAPTER BEYOND OUR SHORES

The Singapore Floorball Association officially launched the inaugural Singapore Floorball Overseas Training Programme (SFOTP) on 20 August 2026, marking a significant step in providing national athletes with sustained exposure to elite floorball overseas.

Seven national floorballers — Siti Nurhaliza Binte Khairul Anuar, Jerelee Ong Yan Ting, Nur Yuanna Insyirah Binte S Ralli, Nicholas Chua Wee Guan, Lim Jie Ying, Foo Wen Xin and Shermaine Goh Xin Mei — will head to Sweden this September for a seven-month stint with Pixbo IBK, where they will train and compete from September 2026 to March 2027.

Nicholas Chua was unable to attend the ceremony due to an overseas tournament and will join his fellow athletes for the programme in Sweden.

Held at the CoachSG Room at Sport Singapore, the launch and send-off ceremony was attended by Mr Joakim Ladeborn, Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Sweden in Singapore, and Mr Low Jia Ren, Deputy Chief, High Performance Sport Institute (HPSI), Sport Singapore, alongside the management committee from the Singapore Floorball Association and Sport Singapore.

For the seven athletes, the programme offers an opportunity to experience the demands of floorball in one of the sport’s leading nations — gaining valuable training and competition experience to bring back to Singapore.

A new environment. A higher level. Another step forward for Singapore floorball.

All the best to our seven national athletes as they take on Sweden.

A big thank you to DecathlonSG (Decathlon Singapore) and Taishan Sports () for your support at the Decathlon Sports Festival! 🏑🙌

Our appreciation goes to Decathlon for providing the event space, floorball sticks, balls and cones, giving us a great platform to introduce floorball and let more people experience the sport.

A special thank you as well to Taishan Sports for providing and setting up the interlocking multi-purpose sports flooring, together with IFF-certified floorball goalposts, helping us create a quality playing environment for all participants.

We would also like to give a big shoutout to our NYTC girls jerrmaiineee_ Suan Teng zaheffa عائشة for volunteering their time and energy, and for giving back to the association by supporting the event and helping to grow the sport they love.

With the support of our partners, volunteers and the wider floorball community, we were able to bring floorball closer to the community and give more people the opportunity to pick up a stick and discover the sport.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and made the event a memorable one.

U19 MEN’S TEAM OPEN TRIALS

Open trials for the U19 Men’s Team are coming to Our Tampines Hub, as we begin preparations towards the U19 Men’s World Floorball Championships in Riga, Latvia.

Led by Coach Kumar and Coach Siraaj, the trials will be conducted in stages, with players assessed at every session.

21 Aug | 6pm–8pm
24 Aug | 6pm–8pm
26 Aug | 6pm–8pm
28 Aug | 6pm–8pm
