Making an Impact Through Corporate Volunteering 🤝

A cleaner home. A brand-new dining table. And a family that can finally enjoy meals together.

Through SBF VolunteerInc., we partnered with Québec Government Office in Singapore for a half-day home cleaning engagement at a client's home.

Our client is an elderly lady in her 70s and primary caregiver to her spouse. Mobility challenges make it hard for her to reach the top shelves and cabinets — everyday tasks most of us take for granted. Even so, she made the effort to welcome the volunteers into her home.

The volunteers didn't just clock hours. They listened first, then went further — buying and assembling a new dining table set so the family could share meals in comfort.

That's what made it meaningful. Not a fixed agenda, but genuine care — the kind that treats people with dignity.

The impact went both ways. The volunteers shared that connecting with the local community was the most meaningful part, and as an overseas organisation here, it showed them how a morning of support can genuinely change lives.

Showing up, together. That's what community looks like.

When families struggle, it is often the relationships between people — not any one person — that needs attention. Family therapy works with the whole family to improve communication, resolve conflict, and build stronger bonds. Our latest article explains what family therapy involves, who it is for, and how to access support in Singapore.

Our latest campaign is now live across bus stops and MRT stations islandwide, carrying a simple message into everyday spaces: a new day can start with one conversation.

Whether it’s checking in on someone you care about or reaching out for support yourself, taking the first step can be difficult. But when you’re ready to talk, we are here to listen and walk alongside you.

A BIG thank-you to everyone who continues to support Viriya and the communities we serve.

Today marks a double milestone – the official launch of the Journeys for Good campaign and the unveiling of the Charity Trains!

Our campaign will now be appearing across bus shelters and MRT stations islandwide, and is onboard the Charity Trains – carrying our message of hope and connection to commuters across Singapore.

A new day starts with one conversation. When you are ready to talk, we are ready to listen.

Once again, heartfelt thanks to MCCY, SMRT, and Stellar Ace for this meaningful opportunity. We also had the privilege of sharing more about our work with Guest of Honour MOS Baey Yam Keng.

Look out for our campaign on your daily commute!

💚 Volunteers Workshop: Befriending Skills

Last weekend, our amazing volunteers gathered to level up their listening and connection skills. From empathy to active listening, they are now even more ready to support friends, neighbours, and loved ones through tough times. 🤝

"The workshop was very informative and useful!"

Thank you for your heart to serve, and for showing up to learn. We are so grateful for each of you.
