A simple offer turned into many lovely afternoons of learning and sharing 🧶

One of our seniors, who regularly comes down to Lucky Haven, told our Care Staff that she would be happy to volunteer and teach crochet.

We gathered a few seniors who were interested, and before long, everyone was learning together, sharing tips, chatting and proudly working on their own crochet pieces.

It was wonderful to see how one senior's willingness to share her skills brought together others with the same interest and created another opportunity for friendship and connection.

Our seniors have so much knowledge, experience and talent to share, and sometimes, all they need is the opportunity to do so. ❤️

A throwback to the Diabetes Singapore Dinner 2026 ✨

Thank you, Diabetes Singapore, for having us and for the warm hospitality. It was a meaningful evening celebrating the journey so far, the partnerships built along the way, and the collective effort needed to create a healthier and more informed community.
We are glad to have walked alongside Diabetes Singapore and look forward to supporting its next chapter towards building a Sugar Smarter Nation.

At ACDS, we believe that lasting impact is built through strong partnerships and a shared commitment to uplifting one another. We look forward to continuing this journey together.

One event. Many communities. Countless moments to remember. ❤️

OneSG61 with Antica brought together seniors, youths, former offenders, adults with intellectual disabilities, caregivers, volunteers, athletes and families for a celebration of sport, inclusion and community.

From carnival activities and international badminton to inclusive play and meaningful connections, every moment reflected our belief that everyone should have the opportunity to participate, contribute and belong.

A heartfelt thank you to our partners, sponsors, volunteers and everyone who joined us in bringing ACDS’s mission of “Empowering Lives, Bridging Communities” to life.

At Lucky Haven, seniors are not only taking part in activities. They are also teaching carrom, leading AI workshops and sharing their experience with younger generations.

This was the focus of a recent conversation on MONEY FM 89.3’s The Agenda, featuring Dr Tan Cheng Kok, senior volunteer and AI trainer at Lucky Haven, and our Executive Director, Dixon Lim.

As Singapore’s population ages, the discussion looked at how seniors can continue to learn, contribute and stay connected. Whether someone comes to teach, learn or simply enjoy the company, everyone has a place in the community.

This World Alzheimer’s Day, a little understanding can go a long way. 💜

For someone living with dementia, everyday conversations and surroundings can sometimes feel confusing or overwhelming. We can all help make those moments easier.

⭐Give them time to respond.
⭐Keep conversations simple and calm.
⭐Listen without rushing to correct.
⭐Offer reassurance when things feel unfamiliar.

And most importantly, continue to include them.

This , let’s build a more understanding and dementia-friendly community together.

Our seniors at Lucky Haven were all smiles as they showed off their LEGO sunflowers at the final session! 🌻

For some, it was their first time trying LEGO. Others recalled building with their children and grandchildren. Over four sessions, they enjoyed figuring things out together with peers and young participants from Antica.

Just as LEGO encourages children to develop thinking skills as they grow, it may also help seniors keep their minds engaged through creative thinking and problem-solving.

The programme was piloted by Antica Community Development and Services and the Singapore University of Social Sciences e SR Nathan School of Human Development, and was also showcased at SUSS GIF 2026.

Thank you to Prof Kelvin Tan, our partners and everyone who joined us. Seeing our seniors try something new and proudly share what they made was a lovely way to finish the programme. 💛

The conversation explored how sport can connect people across different generations and abilities, drawing on our recent badminton event that brought together international players, local youth and athletes from Special Olympics Singapore and Team ABC.

Sharing a court creates opportunities to meet, interact and get to know people beyond our usual circles. For ACDS, we want to build on these moments through regular opportunities for people to participate, form friendships and feel a sense of belonging.

As we continue empowering lives and bridging communities, we are glad to be part of this conversation about bringing Singaporeans closer together.

What a weekend to remember! ❤️🇸🇬

OneSG61 with Antica brought together people of different ages, abilities and backgrounds for two vibrant days of celebration, connection and community spirit.

From carnival rides, games and performances to community showcases and sporting activities, it was heartening to see everyone sharing the same space, creating new memories and celebrating as one community.
