Bitcoin Fell From $120,000 to $60,000. Then an Interesting Question Emerged.

Most digital assets react to market volatility.

Some protocol designs are built so that market volatility affects their supply.

In these systems, users lock a Bitcoin-backed reserve asset to receive emissions. To redeem the reserve asset later, the emissions associated with that position must be permanently destroyed.

When Bitcoin fell from $120,000 to $60,000, some participants may have chosen to redeem their reserves. If so, supply reduction would occur automatically through the protocol's predefined rules.

No governance vote.

No central authority.

No manual intervention.

Just participant behavior interacting with immutable code.

The idea is simple: instead of treating market volatility as an external force, make it part of the supply mechanism itself.

Whether this model ultimately succeeds is uncertain.

What is certain is that it offers a different perspective on digital scarcity—one where human behavior becomes part of the economic engine.
