What a beautiful closing to Asia Montessori Conference 2026.
AMC 2026 in Okinawa was a truly remarkable gathering. Across three days, we experienced 33 lectures by speakers of 10 nationalities, bringing together educators, leaders, practitioners, parents, and friends from across Asia and beyond.
We were also deeply touched by the Omotenashi shown by our Japanese hosts. Through their warmth, care, humility, and attention to detail, they reminded us that hospitality is not only about service. It is also about respect, thoughtfulness, and the quiet dignity of caring for others.
At the closing ceremony, Ms Charmaine Soh Chian Mui, President of the Asia Montessori Association, presented a painting to our Japanese hosts in appreciation of their dedication and friendship. Created by children, the painting featured lotus flowers.
The lotus rises from the mud without being stained. It represents purity, resilience, and dignity, and is also a symbol of peace, friendship, and hope.
As AMC 2026 came to a close, we were excited to announce that the next Asia Montessori Conference will be held in Taiwan. More information will be shared in time.
AMC 2026 showed us what is possible when educators across Asia come together. Now, imagine what we can build if we stay connected beyond these three days.

AMC 2026は、美しいフィナーレを迎えました。
沖縄で開催されたAMC 2026は、まさに忘れがたい大会となりました。
3日間にわたり、10か国・地域から集まった講師による33の講演が行われ、アジアをはじめ世界各地から教育者、学校関係者、実践者、保護者、そして多くの仲間が一堂に会しました。
また、日本の皆さまが示してくださった「おもてなし」の心にも深く感銘を受けました。
その温かさ、細やかな心配り、謙虚さ、そして一つひとつへの丁寧な気遣いを通して、私たちは、おもてなしとは単なるサービスではなく、相手を敬い、思いやりを持って接する心そのものであることを改めて学びました。
閉会式では、アジア・モンテッソーリ協会（AMA）会長のシャーメイン・ソウ・チアン・ムイ先生より、日本の主催者の皆さまへ、感謝と友情のしるしとして一枚の絵画が贈られました。
その作品は子どもたちによって描かれた蓮の花です。
蓮は泥の中から咲きながらも、その泥に染まることはありません。
それは純粋さ、たくましさ、そして品格を象徴するとともに、平和、友情、そして希望の象徴でもあります。
そして、AMC 2026の閉幕とともに、次回のアジア・モンテッソーリ・カンファレンスが台湾で開催されることを発表いたしました。

AMC 2026は、アジアの教育者が力を合わせることで、どれほど大きな可能性が生まれるのかを私たちに示してくれました。
だからこそ、この3日間だけで終わらせるのではなく、このつながりを未来へと育んでいきましょう。
