Are you excited about using AI and technology to support organizations tackling real-world challenges across the Asia Pacific (APAC) region?
is recruiting volunteer technical builders for a two-day, in-person AI Builder Lab in Bangkok on June 11-12, 2026. The event is part of a collaboration with OpenAI Academy and program partners the Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC) and the Gates Foundation to support disaster-management agencies across APAC.
We are especially interested in Bangkok-based builders who can join both full event days in person.
Volunteers will work directly with disaster-management practitioners, OpenAI and DataKind staff, and Singapore to support emergency-response and disaster-management practitioners turn promising ideas into practical AI solutions that address real operational needs.
The strongest fit is someone who can:
- Build quickly and pragmatically
- Collaborate effectively with practitioners
- Make thoughtful technical tradeoffs
- Help deliver a usable prototype
You do not need to be an AI researcher. We’re looking for builders who can move quickly, listen well, and help produce a usable prototype or workflow package by the end of the event.
